That H-cane was a bust. It killed the sand and didn't throw much more than a little HH short-period slop. Didn't even get that much rain at my place, but I guess the mountains and reservoirs got some.

Now it's hot as hell and sticky like the EC. Gross. At least it should be okay to skin it. My backup spot still has sand, but it's gonna be no better than shoulder high and walled. Oh well, at least there's a beach full of hindus there.

I was able to drop knee(well sorta) that beater board of mine at Edisto this weekend, wasn't a crazy long ride as the swell breaks quickly there but least I did it

Damn dude! A ten year old PT Cruiser for just $750/mo. That is definitely super FUNky, and if not legendary now it soon will be!

I'm there man.....longboard on the roof for those mellow Malibu sessions...super pointy thruster in the huge trunk for shortboard ripping at the El Porto. Those normally tense guys at Oxnard get all warm and fuzzy when you roll up in the black PT Cruiser.

Florida and southeast US south of outerbanks suck ass.

Outer banks/nantucket island don't count in this comparison of EC areas.
and I'm not familiar with the outer banks anyway. If I wanted to live in the
middle of nowhere I'd go tropical indo. I'm talking where people actually live.
RI is better than Florida, which doesn't barrel unless there's a hurricane in
the water. 99% of the swells are absolute mush. Lets forget that nonsene of
shwoing a hurricane sandy swell causing huge barrels at pumphouse in Florida.

Let's talk about what we ride on a normal basis. RI is better than the garbage
surf breaks south of hatteras all the way to miami. RI is better than virginia
beach, which is absolute garbage. Maryland and RI are close. Advanges to MD is
WAY warmer obviously and a few descent beach breaks that are equivalent or
better than some RI beachies and less crowded than some RI breaks. Advantages to
RI are able to handle a hurricane swell better and able to handle multiple wind
directions. MD just like RI doesn't have that many good barreling breaks. Just a
few compared to NJ.

Maryland is a downgraded version of NJ and not as exposed to SSW swell as
southern half of jersey shore.. Delaware is now garbage. Used to be great. They
need to replenish with some fine grain sand so the beach won't be so steep.

Every major swell when I was in RI I would see NJ plates, I don't get it! NJ blows RI out of the water! I don't see RI plates of surfers in NJ.

For the most part:
Rhode Island is MUSHY/DISORGANIZED rock reef crap or mushy beaches or heavy
close outs on the few beach breaks that do exist for the most part on an average
BIG swell.

Here's one of the heaviest rock reef breaks with a BIG swell on it. Monahan's
dock. One take off spot. This is it "firing". Garbage disorganized crowded(due
to one take off spot) mush.

Here's a popular spot with spongers on here that that usually closes out. This
is what it looks like on AVERAGE with a big swell in the water. It can get
better and it can get worse.

Also, this is only a tiny section of the beach that works. It's super hollow and
HEAVY like nj, but subpar due to tendency to close out and it being a tiny
little area that can get crowded for it's size at times.

No one really bodyboards in OCMD that much. There's probably like a dozen or so super dedicated dudes (inc. myself) besides all the grom chargers. There's probably more grom chargers who go on everything than older dudes who ride prone religiously.
For example, I get stoked to see someone else paddle out on a bodyboard when I'm in the water, because the areas I surf and the guys I ride with are all stand-ups.
