What does AR stand for? How many breaths for an adult and child? What should be done if the chest does not rise during AR?

Well Cristhian, it took some research, but AR could stand for a number of things. It is either Argentina or Artificial Respiration.

If the chest does not rise, you may be blowing into the wrong hole. Flip the person over and try again.

    Bub...

do you enjoy watching people contend for Darwin Awards?

Bub, when you're in the line-up, off duty, do the whistles make you nervous?
(I know they never are for me, but the whistles make me a mite nervous. Not scared, but like Carl nervous)

Bub, what is your favourite asspect of guarding peoples' lives?

Adult and child are both 30-2. Unless it is a two man resuscitation then it goes to 15-2.

AR....hmmmm....Adult resuscitation? They have so many terms and everyone uses different ones.

If chest does not rise tilt head back and check for obstructions.

Also EMS should have been called a loooong time ago.

    1. yes but I keep in mind with a change of enviroment I could easily be in contention.

    2. Not nervous because I know its not personal but I dont want to give them any issues that could potentially make their day entertaining.

Also as an off duty fella you can't really turn off the attention to a whistle. If they need help you want to be able to assist..... That said I look if its something minor I go back to what im doing. Im not working for chrissake.

    3. Being able to surf and make beer money at the same time.

Doesn't the sand grinding on the wooden beach stand drive you crazy? I hate it when I climb a chair when yous guyes are off duty. That's what kept me from being a lifeguard...... that and the zinka.

wait...beach guard or pool? Huge difference. Like saying I surf but I could be a total d1ckhead kook or a humble ke11y.

Depends on where you go and who you're dealing with.

I highly recommend this model. This model and only this model can you have fun on and surf well.

Hm... because they are usually ex swimmers/athletes like to drink with the boys and swim open water like mack trucks. Put some surf down and they revert back to being women however.

Take it from me. You want to sit with them for job purposes.

The hot ones are hot yeah but they are pretty much useless for anything other than that.

One time in AP it was cold, the beach was empty and a 15 yr old lifeguard told me and my friend we couldn't surf. Without hesitation my friend said we got permission from the head lifeguard Mitch Buchannan and he was welcome to go check with Mitch if he wanted. Kid let us surf and went off in search of Mitch. So funny, wonder what his colleagues thought when he went asking for Mitch.
