Sorry to say anything that develops in the northeast Gulf will drift southwest or west in the coming days. Upper air circulation puts the core of the Sonoran ridge in west Texas. Ain't nothin' to push that developing disturbance east into the Atlantic.
I won't tell a soul Kahuna....mums the word. Actually just got back from the beach, caught some thigh high peelers...nothing to write home about, but it's better then nothing.
We had a superfun morning today. Especially once the tide started coming in mid morning. Very early the waves were a little bigger. Def better than all week, and yesterday's disgraceful waves .My friend literally came face to face with a manatee which was fun. I saw Chuck out there and I asked him to make me another board. The devil made me do it I am glad you got some fun Dog!
Can't really complain about the weekend, not bad for July. Small but super clean longboard waves Saturday morning. This morning not as clean but a bit more size and punch, lasted most of the morning before the tides and winds started changing. Obviously not tropical juice but scratched the itch for sure.
Yea I know it was bs I even made a joke by typing classy instead of glassy.... Today was a friggin mess north wind blowing the heck out of any swell
dude the past to days we had waves made it out 3 times but didnt really do much for me super had to surf. think the best wave i got out of all three sessions was a floater and off the lip. you would be very lucky to pull 3 tricks on a wave. a had some old man swimming today say to m after i caught a wave and rode it into shallower water...you need to go far out...im like wtf and say i know how to surf.. the waves where breaking off a sand bar closer to shore. like im going to listen to some tourist that knows nothing about surfing lool. he just didnt want me surfing by him is my bet;
Yeah, I finally got a couple....oh no....the new board bug bit ya didn't it, haha, Chuck will get it done.
where at? I was at iop over 3 hrs today I caught I decent ride the rest soon as I paddle into it the face evaporated and crumbled glad u got some wherever you were at had to work sat so today was my day and it was trash... Off time hopefully wind lays down a tad
Man, first you had that phantom swell last Sunday and now another nice day I missed. I'm gonna have to take your advice of "go before you know" and just head up there next weekend. Let me know which day will be best conditions Been two weeks since I've set foot on a board. I need to check out your new board too.
Some waist high bump in the usual summer flatness this morning off Dam Neck, around 7:30-8:30AM. At the best break, the water appeared almost almost boiling with churning and jumping fish - about a foot or so in length. Water had a stronger fishy smell than usual. Decided to go further down the beach. The break wasn't as good, but I didn't feel comfortable paddling through and sitting in the middle of all that action.
Valhallalla, its not worth a 20 mile trip in either direction....knee to thigh hi at best, although the water is crystal clear and 75 deg. not much happening other than that.
I hear ya, dog. But these things are all relative. Going on three weeks without surf so knee high seems like double OH to me. Ran into a couple one time out surfing the horrid knee high choppe of south Broward. They were from Key Largo so it felt like Pipe to them. A bad day at the beach is better than most other days.
Me too! If Saturday am looks like over ankle high, I am going up to Port Fierce and will be on it like a hobo on a ham sandwich. Hopefully the stars will align and the Treasure Coast Pipe will be firing. Thunderdome here I come.
Got some waist high nugs last week at the inlet and waist to chest at my favorite Gulf Jetty this past Sunday, and there were waist / stomach waves east side at the same time. Flat spell broken, thread closed.
Good for you DPS, got some knee to thigh down here....lol... but still calling it flat until I see a solid 2 days of waist high waves. Man, we still have to get together, soon.
