Look you either caught 2 waves or you didnt. that number is too low to enter in the realm of lost count.
I'm wondering what it's like in Fart Story now. I used to be good 'til you got to the point then schit got weird when you got into the LAC zone. Maybe, now it's schit til you make that left at the dog leg and it's like Pavones there. Maybe.
Was it officer Brian Decker? If so, you all seriously need to sign this petition (it's already got 500 signatures). Sounds like a similar pissed off and otherwise law-abiding surfer in VB got the shaft by the po-po's. http://www.ipetitions.com/petition/lets-help-officer-decker Virginia Beach has the most surf restrictions of any beach town I have ever visited or lived in. It's f-ing ridiculous! "Surf here (in a 1-block area), don't surf here (in a 40-block area), and only during these times which change every day." What a bunch of BS! I've been hassled by the lifeguards for surfing in no-surf zones even when there is absolutely nobody out, but luckily have evaded officer di*kwad as mentioned above...
One would think that, for safety sake, a line of watermen sitting on floatation devices would be a deterrent against tourons being sucked out to see by the "UNDERTOW!!!!!!!!!!!" but nooooooooooooooooo
Hey Dude84, not sure you read everything... well it was actually because you cant surf north end VB on weekends until 4:00 pm.. I really thought anything past the board walk was fair game any time. which means the only legal surfing areas are 1st st. (Fvck that..) and Croatan (eh..) That's not quite the law abiding citizen
That's why I said "otherwise law-abiding..." since he said he was respectful, etc, yet still received a ticket. I know the rules of surfing in VB - I'm just stating my opinion that the rules are ridiculous and the enforcement of said rules is also ridiculous. That's what the petition is about as well.
the dude1984 Good for ya not just rolling over and takin' sh*t like so many b*tchs on here would do. If ya'll don't stand up nothing will change. If ya'll can get some local businesses in on the the issue as well ya'll could negotiate a better/fairer solution for your right to use the ocean for what it was made for, Surfing.
Sounds like you guys live in the movie Footloose, but instead of banning dancing, they're banning surfing. You should just get everyone together with your boards and have a big dance at the beach instead. On a serious note, you could ask for a withhold of adjudication and likely walk away only paying court costs. This does not create an attorney client relationship.
Well MFitz, it is more of a question of what you actually consider a wave. If your wondering how many times I stood up it was probably in the 5 or 6 range but thats just drop in, get the pit, and stand up out the back as she shutserself down. now actually getting 2 or more pumps down the line... caught maybe 2. actually this is not true, i was thinking about when i went out later that evening. I def got 5 or 6. i might have had 2 when i got the ticket.
Officer Miller I believe. Ill take a look at the petition, would be nice to have some more beach to work with, even if it is structureless north end slop.
Okay, fair enough. There is no reason this officer could not have just given a warning, but, its a resort town, so... $$$$$$$$$$
No. It's like waving it in front of a bull. But the point is moot. There has been NO waves this spring nor now. BUT, when it does come, I'd like to see the bastids keep us out. Muh fuggers will get a riot like in 7/4/'76.
