Believe it. This is the longest stretch of surf we have had in ages. Yesterday was chest to shoulder although onshore. The bouys are 6 ft today with yet another low in the gulf. Here's a link from yesterday but look through prior dates to see the run we have had. Nothing epic but getting this much surf for us is pretty damn fun. http://www.gulfster.com/Daily/2015PictureGallery/080215am3/index.html

Yesterday was going off!! 6 foot sand drainers at sand key, super-fun/sketchy waves. Was done surfing in an hour and a half cuz the current was so strong you ended up drifting a half-mile down the beach.

Sand Key, oh man. When I lived down there, there used to be a place south of Sand Key called Restaurants. I used to surf there quite a bit, when we had the waves. The rest of the time was down towards Indian rocks.

looks that way,,when waves get big you see all kinds of stuff..but I can say yesterday I saw about the best rider ive seen,,not trick wise but balance and distance wise....this bald headed dude on a funboard would catch a wave way out and he literally rode it all the way in to almost ankle/thigh deep water.... came to a full natural stop and stepped off the board

I think sometimes people just want to ride and not slice the wave to hell

the balance he had as he got into shallower water and his speed slowed was amazing,though..,most jump off around waist depth,,i kept watching this guy he just kept cruising and cruising slower and slower almost onto the beach it seemed
