FYI, I also have made boards where either due to the weight of the glass or some other unknown, the lamination didn't follow the contour of the box flange and left a bubble around the edge when I sanded through to expose the opening. It looked a lot like that when done. Why a pro would make that mistake I don't know but the boards that I have done that on are still going strong after years of heavy use.

    1) buy local if your going to buy used ie craigslist
    2) find the original guy on yelp if its a shop and warn others what a ****e bag pussie he is (UNLESS HE TOLD YOU AHEAD OF TIME) most shop guys care for their buisness and wouldnt do that to scum someone over
    3) take it to a ding guy, i just got a box repaired that was way more f'ed up than yours and it was 60

Relax slim, we are just bustin you balls a little. Sorry about your fin box, from the pic, it looks like an easy fix. That's a nice present from the wifey, most of the fellas on here are trying to figure out ways to sneak their new boards into their quiver. HA. Good luck with the repair and welcome to our dysfunctional family

Being that's it's the back trailing fin- I would leave it like it is. It's not going to leak.

From my experience- when you start messing with fins and such, like doing major fin repairs- the board never rides the same. Maybe I'm a little too particular, idk. But I wouldn't mess with it. If it was a side fin and one was different then the other- then yes. But since its the trailing fin- no

I would kindly email the company back- just explaining what's up and that you didn't pay all this money for a custom to have it messed up... See what they say. Maybe they will send you some stickers or something. Idk.

Thirdly- a hello thread is really a good idea too. Don't take it the wrong way- but it's kinda the way things are done around here these days. Just let the guys know who you are, where you surf, what you surf, what your favorite color is and where you like to get pizza when gruvi is paying... You know just the regular questions.
