Loving the model shift to the right. Still a ways out. Hoping it can bring some much needed swell to the mid Atlantic!

Yeah, having the same problem with the shutters, all covered with wasp nests and Florida scummy stuff. The track looks like it's heading for Ft Pierce/ Vero area. Kinda hoping it just fizzles to a wave or stays 100 miles offshore. The forecast is for 7-9' waves midweek, but but super windy.

I think this will turn into a fire drill. I got rid of most of the wasps today, and will do one more drive by tomorrow to get the stragglers. The gate is taken care of, and a rotten papaya tree has been cut down, along with a few loose limbs here and there. New spark plug for the generator minyana, and patch a few spots along the eves. All gassed up. Need to stock up on some goodies. I would rather do this every year, rather than live in a root cellar during spring tornado season inland. CHOO CHOO the surfs a comin!!!

Totally. Oh snap! I forgot to check out if the chain saw is working. So much work to get ready. It's a good drill though if it misses. There's gonna be waves no matter what. I envy you having a papaya tree.

If the recurve trend continues, this is looking more like a swellmaker for us...starting to get a bit of optimism for this one.

Buy a papaya and they are full of seeds. They grow like weeds. Sprout them and pot them, then drop them in the ground once they can withstand a good pounding from a downpour. One got white fly, which is a total mess, and can spread. They bear lots fruit the size of mutant footballs. They get so top heavy they fall over. It's like the vegetable equivalent of a horse. An absurd top heavy shape.

And (at least up here in the mid atlantic) a nice ripe papaya in a market could run you $3 - $4

Erika baby is starting to behave like a good girl. Nearly all the models have her curving NNE to ENE of Florida. Could even avoid landfall in the Carolinas and just bless us all with mad swell. She stacked up high tonight and convection will improve as she reaches the Bahamas. Could be greater than the originally intended Cat1. I'm being optimistic for the best tropical weather event since I started surfing. Rhodey here we come.

Don't book that flight yet Emazz. Here is a comment from flhurricane.com:
"Recon's new center fix is well south of the forecast track, which possibly means a dramatic left shift in the 11AM Advisory. And comes closer to possible interaction with Hispaniola/PR which could cause Erika to completely fall apart like Danny

Either way, the uncertainty in the future of Erika is at an all time high this morning."

Yep track has shifted east enough that the 06z. models are pushing some long period swell into the mid Atlantic for Subday Monday. It's only 2@12 seconds but it's a promising trend. My prediction is SI will shown that when it updates at noon.

Yeh I about fell out my chair when I first saw that. Believe it when I see it. Sure would be nice to get some clean chest to head high.
