Does anyone have photos of 9/11 from sandy hook? Saw it once online now I can't find it. Pretty powerful photo, their was about 10 people trying to paddle out and you can clearly see the smoke from the buildings in the background with the NYC skyline
I am not sure of her name, but call the shop and they will know her name. My bro is in the picture punching through the wave. I think she has more than 1 photo for sale. I think she has a website
Veronica lowers is the photog who's pics are in spells. I'd take a picture and post but I'm going to sleep. I was surfing in deal that morning and it changed my life. Joined the marine corps delayed entry program on September 12th
Thank you for your service mattyb if you could post a picture of it when ever you get a chance that would be rad
Found this if helpful. I was there until about 9. Second plane hit during my 10 minute drive home. I remember it like it was yesterday.
If Veronica is actually selling 9/11 pic I hope she is donating any money she gets from them. Making money off of the 9/11 pain is as unpatriotic as is gets
wow , what an image , I was working at Sandyhook when it all went down , so surreal the surf and the carnage happening at the same time , we were sent to the observation deck at the tip of the Hook to manage the crowd that rushed to see what had happened , when we saw the second tower fall . a mere 7 miles across the water , not a plane in the air , in a corridor linked to so many airports , so surreal , and the acrid smell of the burning building , that we could smell for weeks following their collapse . and still the surf continued in it's beneign indifference to our pain .
I got a great barrel that morning at the Hook. Full on pitted. Ears felt the rapidly decreasing air pressure as the wave swallowed me...and then spit me out. Thought I'd be talking about it all day. Hell - all week. Never really mentioned it given what happened. Made me weigh up what's important (but it was a screamer!)
I still remember the phone call from my roommate who was supposed to fly out to school that day. "I'm not making it. America is under attack." I didn't have a TV so I went to best buy and sat there for hours in teary disbelief. We may have bent that day, but we never broke.
Thank you very much Mattyb for helping us remain the greatest country on earth. Land of the Free, Home of the Brave.
