idk, looks like you put the traction too far up from the tail for optimal turning radius. Anyway, please post a pic of the bottom of the board...is it strictly a quad or 5-fin?
5 fin. ill grab a pic then. My pad placement is always weird but ive always been a more front footed surfer so it seems to work. its only about an inch from the plug tho.
true - I've rarely used the 5th box on the five-box boards I've had. You can use them for a knubster, but, in the power/size waves that call for a knubster, might as well break out your thruster (if you got one). The 5th box can also be used for a shark-tooth trailer in conjunction with large twin sides. Unfortunately, all Future center trailer fins are shoved way at the back of the box, widening the turning radius. I've got a spare Thermotech F4 center fin I'm thinking about hacking to make a custom shark-tooth (scared about the foiling part).
sometimes you get a good feeling when you look at a board.. this one did that for me. Full report please....
so I did the above fin hack (foiling was just as difficult as I thought), installed it in my center/5th fin box and realized the damn fin box was installed crooked! I tried all my rear fins in there to make sure and the shark-tooth tilts about 1/8" from the stringer, larger fins tilt a little more. Doesn't really matter in my case because my board rides better as a quad anyhow (side and quad trailers look perfect), but it still pisses me off. Might want to check your fin alignment before you ride your new board...glassers be retarded.
