It was $585 all done after tax and shipping. Solid price for getting a board the perfect length and liters ya know.
if you think it rides good now, you should try moving the traction pad back to the leash plug (after these swells, of course). Doesn't seems like a big deal and might not make any difference to you, but it put me on the sweet spot on my Roberts. Moving traction isn't as difficult as it seems: 1. Buy a can of spray adhesive (I bought 3M brand, but I suppose any would do). 2. With a hair dryer, separately heat up and peel off each section of traction you already have stuck (some tractions are stickier than others). Clean the tail area of any residue. 3. Spray the bottom of the traction sections with spray adhesive (a little extra on the wedge ends) and re-stick them as close to the leash plug as possible. If you feel your back foot is ever going to need to be farther up on the board (and absolutely need traction there), buy more the cheapest traction you can find and cut custom pieces to put in front of the traction you already have on.
a board like this has a lot of foam up front, if you were to surf it with your back foot on top of the leash plug, you would b going very slow with the nose of the board riding high and creating drag.i think hes got it right
Ima get another Roberts especially after this run of swell in Florida. I had the white diamond and loved it. If I miss a message regarding one, I will get back to you. New job house and plenty of swell has kept me busy for a bit. Glad I checked the chats today. It's been a while and love a thread like this. Sick board. Perhaps I am not educated on the subject but why is there no diamond tail on this one? Just curious. I took many hits to the head this week so please set me straight if I'm dumbing up. Thanks
Just saying, sticking the traction anywhere other than as close to the leash plug as possible gives us less options. Allowing my foot to get as far back over the rear fins as possible gets me the highest performance turn possible. Granted, I sometimes scooch my feet slightly forward, if need be, but turns are usually done with my rear foot as far back as the traction will allow...and the wedge on most modern traction (depending on the model) already forces the rear foot 2" or more in front of the end of the pad.
Thanks for the advise Waterbaby, but I have that sucker right where I like it. I bought a patch with the vert tail kick and it really helps with 12:00 smacks and bringing the tail blow around. If I move my foot back any more it would squirl out on me , the board is so responsive.
One of my carpenters is a team rider. He gets me the hook up plus I bought it when Robert did the eastcoast tour, automatic $100 off.
The DC worked amazing at Long Beach today 4-6' wave w/ occasional OH bomb ,offshore wind at mid to high tide almond barrels but mostly just turns. Good Sheet!
Im currently EXTREMLY interested in the meat cleaver. What dims you got? Where'd you order one from? Price if you don't mind me asking? Sorry to bombard you with questions but like I said, im very interested in that board. When you get it and ride it definitely post up a review guy!
I called and ordered from Robert. got a 5'10 increased the width and thickness both by an eighth. to support my fat a$$. 5'10 19 7/8 x 2 9/16.
Nice man that's not bad! I assumed ordering straight from him would be expensive, but none of the close shops stock Roberts boards. 625 ain't bad at all though. Thanks for the response man. Good luck with it
That DC does look sweeeeeeeeeeet!!! I also have had 2 Roberts boards and may pick up another...after I sell one first Not hijacking just thought it was related and peeps may be looking thx; https://providence.craigslist.org/spo/5282998832.html
Towelie is a spooge rag ,tool bag ,piece of crap no one runs 22 liters any more. I highly doubt he even surfs. Expecially on the Eastcoast , you be stupid to run that unless you were a anerexic chick!!
