This pisses me off. These rich summer home bennies are trying to prevent the real locals who live here year round from accessing the beach. No one owns the ocean and everyone (even people from NY and Philly, lol) have the right to access the beach.

Can he even surf? Seems a little unstable and you don't really see him surfing in the video. Guess he's trying to jump start an acting career which includes pretending to be a surfer.

He surfs Ok, but he sure as hell not a pro-surfer in any way. I surf better and Im a 42 yr old man. Im seeing this as he wants all the surfcamps out of deal so he can be the only game in town to teach his kind of people surfing. The kid is posting a war threw surfschool. He will pay for this dearly in the line up.

 

I'm a few years younger than you and I've seen better days but I'm still surfing. When surfing is a big part of your life, this crap really sends me over the edge. I just thought it was crazy that he is an actor and says he's a former pro surfer after watching that video. I surf a few Deal spots but not Roosevelt. He looks familiar but I don't remember seeing him at the other Deal spots. I'm going to keep an eye out for him now.

so if I'm reading this right,hes trying to abolish out of towners from parking there?i don't know how that's even possible.there wasn't much reliable info posted here,but yea definitely fugged up,i havnt surfed deal in a long time.great wave just too damn crowded.90%of the surfers there aren't local,they live close by,but not actually on the beachfront in those 2.5million dollar homes.

and when da phuck did surfers start "leaving the beach to go break into houses?"surfers have always been the victims of petty theft because they are in the water and their car is in the parking lot unattended.idk man,like ya I'm gonna go steal a tv from that house and put it under my beach towel.no one will notice

It looks like the only people who will get permits to park there have to live on that street. Even other people in town that don't live on that street won't be able to park there. Just this oceanfront ahole and his 5000 relatives.

 

Or the town will compromise and not necessarily make parking "resident only" but require payment via those sh!tty electronic parking stations.

I can see it now. Look at what they did in west end.

This is about Deal not wanting to hire more cops and beach DPW workers more than anything else. They tried to slime this through before anyone could mobilize against it, but it didn't work. They're not going to get away with it

I was just about to mention that!

Back in the day I use to clean and maintain these peoples pools- you would not believe how much parking a lot of them have on their own property.... Plus don't forget about the pool side cabana - ummm I mean the extra house next to the pool with the master bathroom?!?!

I'm thinking there might be some money involved in this maneuver...

There is really no reason for this parking issue- seriously, it's the summer in jersey- parking is terrible everywhere there is beach. Get over it. If you want to surf alone- move down here full time and surf in the winter. The waves are better anyways, we really don't even get waves in the summer. Idk why anyone who surfs would actually want to live in Manhattan during the best time for waves. Oh wait- surfing season is over after Labor Day, right??

 

Yes, you said it. Everyone on my block could fit in one of those driveways. Definitely sounds like they are trying to shut down access and make the beach private essentially.
