Maritime work

    Anyone here attend SUNY Maritime and/or work in the industry. Please PM me. I want to go there to get my license.

    Merchant marines? Knew a couple of brothers.
    Never in one place too long.
    Seemed miserable.
    Made decent money.
    Had no time or personalities for the chicks. (probably why they had money).
    Did not envy them.
    Wonder where they are now?

    Coast Guard 3rd mates license to work on ships with unlimited tonnage.

    Awesome, bruddah Bub! Go for it! That does not sound mundane. Also, good ports with great surf I'm sure.

    If you wish to sail the seven seas and put your mind at ease then you really oughta consider joining the Navy.

    I know a few people who go there, its supposed to be a good school. I'm actually going to an open house there on Saturday to look into it more.

    Have a friend that did the merchant marines (when he was very young - 19 maybe). He now runs tug boats in FL. Gets paid very well. It took him about 15 years from merchant marines to running a tug boat to sitting back and managing tug boats.
