I have read some pretty gnarly sentencings for any amount in maryland. Possession or use of any amount of marijuana is punishable by up to one year in jail and a fine of up to $1,000. Any one know?? I travel allot around but i dont like drug dogs and wack states... i love the barrels of OC though.

I mean, up to a year in jail and up to a $1000 fine is standard for pretty much any misdemeanor, in any state. So that's no big deal really, you probably won't see a day in jail and have to pay a couple hundred, maybe even take some classes and do some community service, unless you're carrying around copious amounts of ganger, that is.

or just say sorry and when the cop goes back to his car to do whatever... run.
Nah if your honest and up front from pretty early you wont get in much trouble. Im not saying tell the cops you were smoking a joint if you get pulled over but if they know whats up dont try to hide it.

If you are that worried about it...don't smoke in your car. Road sharks only get aggressive if they detect some odor. Like their eyes get all big and ****. Believe me I just went through a whole ordeal.

best bet don't smoke any where in public around O.C, there are informants younger then most know, when traveling hide it in your deodorant, twist it out all the way and put your bag inside. If you do get popped you may get lucky and the cop just take your bag for himself and give you a ticket for parphenellia.

    maryland marijuana laws:

The first offense of over about 2 ounces, gives you a felony intent to distribute charge as well as a misdimeander possession. They will attempt to charge you with a 2 year jail sentence. If it your first offense, you will get the 2 years "suspended", during which time you will serve a supervised probation, including weekly drug screening and manditory counseling. As well as a grand total of about 3500$ in fees for all above services, which are collected incrimentally, each month by a probation officer. By the way, if you violate your probation, you have to go back to court for review, and if you have no proper excuse, you go directly to jail for a 2 years sentence. You serve about 6 months or some bull****. So dont violate that probation!

    Now, thats the bad news.

The good news, which is little known, and rarely publicized. Basically, there are Medical Marijuana Laws that protect users in the state of maryland. It is not like here in california, where you litterally walk into a "Pot Doctor", pay $100 annually and you have legal protection to grow, smoke and purchase legal marijuana from legal stores.

In Maryland, when a "Medical Marijuana" user gets arrested for possesion of marijuana, the legal action still takes place and you are detained and charged. When you go to trial for the Marijuana Case, if you can present evidence to the court that the marijuana you were using somehow medicated you for a legitimate ailment, then the charges are dropped.

The only place in the state of maryland that you will only get a misdimeanor slap on the wrist, is the city limits of baltimore. City courts throw out anything under a street value of about $2500, which is almost 3 pounds of dirty maryland street shwag. So, you will only get a slap on the wrist, and court fees of about $75 bucks. The court systems are so full of violent crime offenders and coke/heroin cases that there is no money in the system to deal with non violent marijuana offenders. Its like ampsterdam in MD. Seriously. Its true. I used to live there.

So, although MD will butt rape you if you smoke, they are more forgiving and advanced that most of the states in the country. Its no cali, but pretend you got glycoma and you are straight.

P.S. Dont ask me how I know all this. But its the real deal.

I was in the car with my buddy. The cops told him that if he just told them the truth he would take it and let us go. He took it, arrested my friend and then made me walk home in the snow. I got lucky I suppose. But never trust a cop. Lie, Lie and Lie more, or just snatch his gun when hes on his radio!

best way to handle one of these situations is either lie until they got the cuffs on you or peace, the key to out running the cops is to never finish last, take up runnin in you spare time it helps a lot:cool:

    backside-killa agrees with cutback kid.

this is a pretty funny post i started....but ya the reason i started this is cause i got stopped at a roadblock recently and put in cuffs and detained for not having my license on me, but they knew i was a licensed driver and then after i was in cuffs they took the liberty to take my keys and search my car.... It was like 3 o'clock right off the inlet bridge. there were drug dogs involved and MAD PIGS!
The charge in court got deffered tho so im just hangin LOW

last march i was driving back from a winter surf trip from ocmd, i was traveling through easton doing 15 over the speed limit. cop driving by the opposite way pulls a u-turn pulls me over claims he got me on radar.
after surfing for two days my eyes are blood shot, nor have i been smoking nor did i have any weed or nothing in the car. Cop takes all my info next thing i know 3 more cops show up and one sheriff. i get taken out of my car, dog searches my car, along with the sheriff. they find nothing after searching for about an hour or so. The cops try and trick me into admitting that i had stuff they couldn't find because their "drug sniffing dog" had signs that there was some sort of drug in my car at some point (complete lie). FAct if the matter is these cops tried to trick me into admitting i had stuff in my car at some point, but the best part of the whole thing is they never asked for permission to search my car therefore if anything was found it would have been a violation of my rights and everything would have been thrown out in court. this is why i dont like cops.... they search everything from glove box, my water bottles, and they tried to find stems in the floor....... dam pigs.

ps cops said his reason was my eyes were red, i had a shag, and becuase i have surf stickers on my car they just assumed i was a pothead. they said every surfer has to have smoked pot at some point.

I spent a night in the OCMD jail once back in the early 90's (simply for making too much noise at night in a rowboat on the Ass-woman bay). Trust me, a night in the OC slammer sucks....you don't get a sleeping bunk, breakfast buiscuit and discharged by dawn like I was told would occur...I didn't get discharged until 2pm the following day (so I spent about 12 hrs in jail) Also I had to stand up nearly the whole time because the cell I was in was so overcrowded. It cost me about $700 in legal fees as well to get it whiped off my record. I almost fell asleep at the wheel driving home on Rt. 50 the next day as well since I was kept up all night and had to go back to work the following day.

    heres another story:

a friend of mine and his friend were skating in baltimore and my friend's friend had grow lights and about a half a pound of fine stuff in his car. both of them are minors. the skateboarding attracted a cop. for some reason he felt like he should search the car because they "smelled like marijuana" even though they had not been smokeing. as soon as he saw grow lights in the car he f*ckin calls like 7 more cops in on two small kids basically. they get like thrown to the ground and handcuffed and thier faces were like forced into the asphault. they both got taken to jail but my friend was out of the police station real fast because it wasnt his car. the other kid was in jail for like 30 hours until he got let out because the cops didnt read them thier legal rights. so both of them got off with no punishment at all which is real f*ckin lucky if you ask me

i am really f*cking sick of all of this bullsh*t and violence that cops are causing with this harmless "drug"

got a good story about this kind of stuff...

i had been drinking one night with a couple friends (underage) and my other friend came and picked me up in his BRAND NEW car to give me a ride to get something to eat and then to take me home. it was around 12:30am and he was stone cold sober driving (friends dont let friends drive drunk :D )....anyway, he took a right turn at a light and he took it pretty lazily and went a little bit wide and crossed the double line with his front left tire. there was literally nobody else on the road because it was so late so we didnt put anyone in any danger and we werent speeding or anything like that. about a mile down the road a cop pulls us over. i was pretty drunk so i was thinking i was ****ed. the cop approaches the window and asks my friend for his license. then he pauses and says, "why does it smell like weed in the car"...keep in mind its a brand new car, just bought that day, and still had the fresh new car scent. we hadn't been smoking nor had we been around anyone who was smoking. the cop keeps insisting we're high and that we have weed and pipes on us, which we didnt. he then says "i'll make you a deal. give me your weed and pipes now and you'll get in less trouble than you will if i find it when i search the car". we let him search the car because we had nothing illegal. he took the seats out of the car and threw them in the street and took all of carpet mats out too. then he took our shoes off and tossed them in the dirt on the side of the road after he saw we had nothing in the car....then he proceeded to write my friend a $90 lane violation ticket.

we had to put the seats and stuff back in the car before we went home too.

i'm all for police officers doing their job because i understand that their job can be difficult and dangerous. the problems start when they start treating people like **** and acting as if they themselves are above the law
