first i admit, i'm getting outta shape, slow, and i dont get in the water as much as i used to.
2nd i need (want)a new board, what stock boards still have that agile, quick feeling but float a little better, no fish, biscuit or any funboard or foam top comments either.

Totally agree, have an Alternator and love it. Maybe throw in a CI Flyer or Flyer II

i'm 6' 185lb, i've been surfing on and off for 17 yrs, mostly longboard, when i was 150 ish i was pretty good on a 5'11 fish and 6'3x18.5"x2.25" but then i got heavier 200# and those boards sunk like a rock, i'll have to check out the ci flyer.
