Not a fan of steak tartare? Honestly, I have only had food poisoning twice in my life. First time was from raw beef in France, and the other was from squid sushi in Chicago. Never been sick from rare beef or pork in this country. I am also a big fan of medium rare pork chops. :)

People are over paranoid about food these days. I like my chicken raw.JK. Only got sick from food once and it was greek chicken that got me. Very gnarly night! Never been poisoned by anything I've cooked at home.

The sushi that got me was a new place in Chitown. I had squid, which is normally not very adventurous. This one, however, still had the ink sack. I couldn't eat anything for 3 days without immediately going to the bathroom. What made it worse, is that I had a lot of business travel that week. I feel sorry for the poor folks that were on that flight with me.

Love Tartare brew! Sketch on da ground beef in the bars at rare. I too cook pork to temp...160 on the tenderloin and its off the grill.

I once served a bone-in cut of prime rib to an elderly lady from Texas. She literally wanted it seared on both sides and as rare as we would serve it. Basically raw. She would salt every bite and devoured it. Tough'ole bird!!!

I cook pork to abour 145 and cover and let rest which usually brings the temp up to 155ish. Chicken is the most suspect to me as far as cooking temps.

As far as bar food goes I guess it depends on if you know the place. We got quite a few bars that serve really good food here. My neighborhood watering hole has a bad arse tue night 1/2 price burger night. I can get a real homemade burger with a lb. of fries and a guiness for $10.00. which leaves room for a shot or two.

Brew I've heard good things aboot Mozzos so I'll have to check it out when in gods country.
