So...friends and I started a thing called Wetsox. Basically it replaces the old plastic bag trick and you can even wear it under your suits and boots. Would love to hear what you guys think. Currently available at Surf and Adventure Co in VB and online. http://www.wetsox.com
Kinda interesting. Still not seeing how it's gonna help me remove my 5/4 past my size 13 flippers without me tearing my rib cartilage - - again. BTW, where can I obtain heated socks for road cycling? Would kill for those.
I keep my socks (the cotton ones) on while i'm pulling on my 4/3. Makes life so much easier. I like the idea, but I've got as much gear as I can handle already. Lucky i'm only in boots for about 4 months, Dec thru march. Good luck!
You guys still having trouble with the wetsuite thing? The plastic bag trick? Boy in my day, we had shotty wetsuites in which water poured through the seams, but we never had such problems putting-on and taking-off our suites. Why even if we did we wouldn't b!tch aboot it. Wow, that might be my best "old man" post yet.
Personally I love the idea, I wear thermal dive sox in the winter precisely because getting my boots and 5/4 off in the freezing cold sux and the sox help (I don't have a big car/van/SUV thing to change in and I don't have one of those big thermal changing poncho things either). So, even tho they are kinda pricey, I might go for it. Besides, they'd look sexy under my plaid Bermooooda shorts in the summer.
Therms are just under 1mm. I use them nov-dec in my 3mm boots to help stall before switching to my 6mm for the winter. I actually put the socks on before I leave the house so I don't have to change barefoot in snow/ice in the parking lot.
Bought a pair and wore them today. They are great! got boots and suit off over the ankle and foot with super ease. Thanks!
So Wetsox is a MI company? Surfing in the Great Lakes must be more frustrating than NE in terms of consistency.
How about a video showing said product in actual use. In the winter i always put my suit on before i get in my vehicle and then take the suit off at home in my hot shower. Usually need to use some soap or shampoo to lube the inside of the wetsuit when trying to get it off. Works well, but anything help getting my 5/4 or 6/5 easier without stretching the wetsuit to insane angles would help. And now for something completely relevant... Do you make them for a 7 '' dork? Kidding I'm giddy over booze. Good luck with your venture but in all honesty I'd love a wet suite with a sleeve for me package. Gets cold in 39 degree water and 5 mil
