OK friends of the surfing community, these guys are up for sale and/or trade with a shaper for a new board: Sunset retro gun shaped by Mike Paulsell at 7'3", 1969 Greg Noll transitional with original skag at 8'2", and my beloved John Kies at 7'0" - all single fins. I've got these three awesome boards that have been in storage since I moved overseas. I love them, but would rather see them go to someone who can love them as much as I do and really appreciate them. I've got more photos of all of them, ask if you'd like to see. What are your thoughts on these boards? Know anyone who would be interested such as a collector or one of the shapers and/or their family? I have my opinions, but what do you think these guys are worth? Thanks!
Oh, I see, you sign in, no introduction post, and expect us to give you advice. Nope. First - introduction, including pictures of your wife or GF...naked. What kind of car do you drive?? Where do you go for medical advice?? Then we will answer your questions. BTW, I would not give you a dime for any of those boards, even though I have been surfing for decades. Surfboards are not "collectibles". They are meant to be ridden, until they are busted in two. Collecting is too much of a yuppie thing, really. Are you a yuppie?? Do you drive a BMW?? Wear a Rolex??
O Barry! Barry can be a little rough around the edges- but he is right! An introduction post is pretty much a right of passage around here. So if you could please just start another thread- answer some of his questions and others like: where you surf, what surfbort you ride, have you ever surfer Belmar (best wave in the world), have you ever abandone anyone, what's your fav color- do you like pizza? I'm not going to say anything about the pic- most guys attach a pic of there dog. Then and only then will the experts on swellinfo.com carry on a conversation about your surfingbort. Did I also mention that here at swellinfo also offer sound medical, legal and physiological advise. All on one website
The Noll might be worth a small amount, if just by the "name" only. An old Noll longboard is probably more valuable. The Kies and the Sunset board? Typical Craigslist value...not much. BTW: what's a "skag"? An ugly girl?
Heya, I replied to all of these and even did a fancyshmancy intro... but it hasn't been approved by the moderator yet. Any chance of some love or should I just give up?
Anyone with those boards gets a pass. However, Barry da Cuda is right. Nekkid photos of a beautiful female (even if you don't know her)would not suck. That, and the antique roadshow thing. Any serious collector, who will spend big bucks, wants a board in at least good condition. The Greg Noll is abused, and should be ridden until it disintegrates, he would abide by that. Who knows? Maybe you can get $10,000 on Craigslist for it. One of our illustrious forum members has done better, with an old plank made from the side of a barn. This is true. So good luck.
