I know some of you on here have rented places in Hermosa and Nosara area, anyone know some decent priced houses or hotels in Mal Pais area. I am going to visit my wifes family in August and need a few days of surf, but it has been a few years since I have stayed in Mal Pais. Need at least two rooms. I have found a lot online, but mostly high dollar stuff. I am thinking of risking it and just going and looking for something when we get there. Maybe we would get the best rates this way on a hotel. but anyway, thanks in advance.
CR tourism is suffering due to the economy. Prices are very negotiable. Call and negotiate your own price and I am sure you can get what you want at a price you want. It worked for me for my CR trip in July/August.

Luz de vida. in Santa Terresa, a mile from Mal Pais. way cool little town. We rented a cabin for $20 a night, and fit 5 of us in there, with AC/ and H20. pool and beach bar. killler
That place was new when I was down there and they had some kind of techno party at night, not really my thing anymore, but the place did look really nice. Didn't realize it was so inexpensive, but that was back in my $3 night camping days.
