Hey guys, looking for a bit of advice. I'm finishing up my undergraduate work on long island in new york and am looking to continue my education in a doctoral program (being a student isn't such a bad gig). Anyway, at this stage of the game I can get paid to go to school wherever I want and I figure I better position myself close to the coast and in a location that gets good waves. My question for you guys is where would you consider going to school if you were in my situation. Keep in mind, it needs to be a legitimate university and I am trying to stay in north america, currently. So far on my list are stonybrook, because Im already here, and UCSB. Thanks guys, take it easy!
check out Florida tech, Melbourne is a weird town full of oldies, but youd be close to some somewhat reliable albeit mediocre surf and you could buy DSUP a drink
agreed barry, but I think he said he wanted to stay in North America, not middle of NPAC details old timer, details but here ya go https://manoa.hawaii.edu/graduate/content/chemistry
Thanks for the replies guys, UH is most definitely on my radar, thinking it is going to be a bit of a reach however.
Gotcha, if money is problematic, family etc....I get it. But allow me to say this, and I am serious on this point, make your decision on which school to go to based on your CAREER goals. Do not select a school which takes you way from that; it would be a mistake you MIGHT regret for a long time...... Surfing is nice, cool, relaxing, etc....but it will never pay the bills, or give anybody a nice paying job. Good luck, and may the double bonds be with you!!
