how cold is the water in NJ

I dunno bro, SI is usually pretty accurate with my local.

Surfed today in a 4/3 with 3mm boots and gloves, and a squid lid. You could definitely get away with a 3/2 and no hood or gloves. Plenty of guys out without.

 

transitional gear today. 3/2 no boots or gloves but bonnet hood. I know....I'm old.

But 59 degree water with 43 degree air and breezy rain squalls....it actually worked.

 

Dudes, I surfed today in a 5 mil, boots and gloves......

I was high and old.

But, when I went to the lifeguard shack with my backpack, and toked-up post-shred, on the way back to civilization, my hands were cold due to the air and the NW-ter-lies, that just started to blow, this morning, at the end of my session, in New Jersey, this morning.

So, therefore, not only was that one of the best run-on sentences, I attest that gloves were a good idea today...in New Jersey, south of north Jersey, today.

Morning session Went with the 3/2 and 3 mil boots and was cold within 2hrs...second session went with the 4/3 and boots and was (obviously) way warmer. Thinking I'm hanging up the 3/2 from this point unless it's sunny and bit warmer...also I weigh about 160 at this point...

 

3/2 and boots in NJ today. You'd get a little cold if you're just sitting on the shoulder watching guys go by instead of paddling at the peak.

 

there might be more in the world then surfing, but all that ****s gay because surfing is way better.

Water was 51 at the local today. An hour and a half north (Twilight Beach), the water was 40 degrees. Go figure

Yep. This is from people that haven't surfed since last September
Usually "I have been away just coming back to NJ" or, "got a new wetsuit is it ok to wear"
