I think it's because of the oil spill in the gulf slowing the flow AND, Get ready Brewshilla, the imminent arrival of Nibiru tilting the earth in a different direction.

I am ready. I was ready in 2012 when it didn't happen. I am ready when it doesn't happen in 2015/2016.

Dude, I think Nibiru has blinded your perspective. There have been some really good waves to be had on the banks (and even VB according to my bud) the last 10 days.

Yeah there have! I've seen more legitimately GOOD days in VB the past month than I have in the past four or five years combined.

unfortunately I can't get to the banks and in VB, the two places it breaks are full. In addition to that, I'm too big of a pooswah to surf winter anymore. I've got surfer ear and am askeert to get a doc to drill them out.

Sweet. Looks like 1st street and cold. Both hurt my head. I don't go any further south than 65th due to crowds and parking.

Yea chicharronne be wary about getting the ears drilled. Talked to an old head a few weeks back at a surf shop -said every friend he knew who got the procedure needed to have it repeated years down the road. Apparently the problem returns double quick if you continue surfing. He himself has the swimmers ear but he uses some type of ear drops to help alleviate the problem -says it works well (except in tropical waters).

Oh also supposedly its the cold wind, as much or more than the cold water which causes it. So, wearing a hood on even moderately chilly days with wind is a good idea for ears that are starting to close up.

Pier. Crowds have been more bearable as the water has cooled. Get a good set of ear plugs. My doc said I have surfers ear, but it hasn't gotten any worse since I started wearing sorkys plugs (i think that's what they're called)

I've had 36 years of ear icedouches. Ear plugs sound like a good idea. When we ski and hydro slide the intercoastals, my ears always got infected.

You need to wash your hands after you wipe your ass, otherwise bacteria will end up in your ears when they start itching!!!
    hahahahaha!!!

A doc told me to mix equal parts vinegar and alcohol and apply to my ears before and after surf. But when there's a swell I tend to focus on getting to the waves more than preventative maintenance.

Ain't that the truth. I know that alcohol, in addition to eliminating bacteria, will evaporate quicker thus removing the water that may be trapped in the ear faster then through normal evaporation.

I've had these issues before. Ear plugs just make it worse for me. Whenever the issue pops up, I use a Water Pic dental tool with lukewarm water. Bend my head over the bathroom sink and set the Water Pic to it's most gentle setting. The first few seconds are a little uncomfortable, but then the water starts breaking up all the crud in there and it all comes out in the sink. Nasty stuff. But it works like a charm for me.
