About a month ago I took a trip over the falls and my feet got a bit too close to my shoulders on the way down. I hyper-extended my back and have been dealing with lower back pain ever since. Anybody done this that has advice beyond, or in addition to, killing myself?

find an acupuncturist that learned their craft in china, not one of the american posers at the chiropractors office who got an online degree

Well... you could always go down to the local dog racing track, find a nice quite spot to sit, maybe grab yourself a cup of hot-coco, and fvck yourself.

Bede Durbidge just went over the falls and had to get stretchered.

They are talking possible spinal injury.

    So....it could be worse.....

Do you have any objection to going to seek medical attention? As your back has been hurting for an extended period of time, you may have done some damage, most likely torn muscles off of your pelvic arch, so I would see an orthopedic guy.
As for killing yourself, it sounds as if you already tried doing that, and did not succeed.....

Well, by asking the good and decent people on the Swell Info forum you've taken the first logical step in correcting a medical problem.

I still don't know what #9/12 means but......

I've had 3 major back injuries, broke it twice and dislocated 3 ribs from the spine (also tore my lung casing on that one, coughed up blood) I don't feel any residual pain from those injuries and I let them heal on their own. Then again I do drink bourbon like its water. Yup there it is, as one of the proud members of the si forum medical team my recommendation to you is bourbon, lots of bourbon.

A good PT, you know the one's with actual degrees, can work wonders. I have had lower back issues over the years, and found an excellent PT who helped me work through the initial problem, but most importantly she gave a specific set of exercises and stretches to strengthen sh*t up around the balky discs in my back. I incorporated these into my normal workout routine, and have been beating back posers in the lineup ever since.

you're in the right place for medical advice...

    A) you're clearly paralyzed. kill yourself.

    B) if your lower back hurts, do this:

deep body squats with your arms extended forward and hold them for 20 seconds. breathe deeply.

lunge with your left leg forward and your right leg back, heel on the ground, and place your right arm in the air and try and touch the ceiling. great oblique stretch. then pull off your back heel and go as deep as you can with the lunge. repeat for the other side. i do sets of 10 each every day.

deeeeeeep lunge, knee practically in your chest, back heel off the ground. left leg forward, right arm on the ground holding yourself up, try touching the ground with your left elbow. hold. move your back heel to the ground, release, ground, release--it flexes your hips. repeat for the other side.

become addicted to pain killers, move to norCal and grow weed, buy assault rifles, wear flannel, and drive a pick up.

    also stretch your hammies.

oh, one more lower back one: sit on a chair, put one foot up on your other knee, then lean forward. repeat other side. you can do this on your counter top as well. throw the outside of your foot up there and rotate your body so your foot is close to your dong, then lower yourself so that your foot elevates as you go down...

I have been a massage therapist for a few years now, and See people often for similar injuries/pain. As long as your not having any sharp stabbing pain (which would indicate nerve irritation caused by vertebrel damage) it is likely you just need to commit to stretching 2-3 daily. I would consult lord Google for hip flexor, and psoas stretches specifically.

A thick globby coating of whale jiz. That fixes pretty much everything. Plus you can style your hair with the excess.
