trevey, housing is problematic in hawaii, on all fronts, vacation rentals included, how many people and whats your budget, I will start asking around.

and you dont want to be 'anywhere' its cheap in waianae, but good luck!

you want to be in the Kahuku>>Waialua area

lol, nothing that the Old Man couldn't handle. The Kid is one of the most frothy I've ever met, he'll paddle out into pretty much everything...surf 4-6 times a day, 7 days a week. Too rabid for me to keep up haha.

probably like 2-4 people from mid january till april. Preferably walking/biking distance to a surfable break where locals wont kill me.

Today is the day! Heading out of Newark tonight. Getting into Lisbon about mid-morning. Hour drive to Peniche. Probably gonna head straight to Supertubes and take some photos. Swell is going off in the coming days.

Any last tidbits of info/places to see/food to try/drinks...?

I am hoping to keep a running photo blog on this thread so check back occasionally for some updates. YOOOOOOHOOOO I AM STOKED!!!

Most people would say port, but I say a glass of Licor de Galicia after a nice plate of grilled sardines!

Awesome. I was there this Summer (Ericeira and Lisbon). Surf was off the charts good.

Great place to be a tourist, off the beaten path and *cheap*. Portugal is wine country, partake.

yup.... emerald island on the other hand that place rules.

i remember last time i went there with one of my friends. (Mr. Superbust knows him well, as this particular friend is the most critically acclaimed sponsored surfer in the area of the entire south east.) Anyway, i remember riding one fun chest high peeler and seeing 4 dolphins on either side of me crusing down the line with me. ****ing awesome moment, cause my sponsored friend was on the shoulder party waving as well. Later in the day we went to AB and my friend got bumped by a black tip shark, entirely knocked off his board into the air. Lotsa wildlife in those parts.

Ah yes, the most sponsored surfer alive currently. Great guy, better surfer. Even the ocean has offered him a sponsorship.
