Ayee pals. So one of my 3/2s I purchased a bit ago has some color to it. I personally dont enjoy fruity colors on my suits so I was wondering if any of yall have ever painted a wersuit. Its a buell wetsuit with blue arms and grey legs with a black torso. I want to black the whole suit out. Planning to use spray paint. If you have done so id appreciate some tips before i wreck my suit. Thanks.

You deserve to have your shlt thrown in the water. Lol no but really just buy another suit. Lots come in shades of black.

Already have 2 other 3/2s. Both of which are black. I like to rotate my suits since I usually surf everyday, multiple times a day. And another suit in the rotation would be nice. The color keeps me away from wearing it frequently unless im stacking clips because i like to blend in for the most part.

i donno i mean it will probably work for all intents and purposes... but spray paint and neoprene doesnt sound like a winning combo in the long run haha

First of all- if your painting you gotta go gold. Really, it's the only way.

2nd- good question, although a bit crazy. Who would paint a Wetsuite??

C: just rock what you got. I mean really - it's just a wetsuite... I used to rock a crazy colored Ron Jon wetsuite...

A thick globby coating of whale jiz will fix that fruit suit right up.

Ho Lee Phuk, once again, I am a away for a couple days and I come back to this. You seriously want to paint your wetsuite?? You should paint your leash, too! Spray paint is an excellent choice.

No need for paint. Just add a cape, some pointy ears on the hood, and you're good to go!

You can paint it but the oil in it might break down the neoprene. Technically it would probably be fine as far as the suit material goes. But you will have two issues:
As soon as the suit flexes or stretches the paint is going to rip and break off.

Also, it is not going to look like a normal black suit. It is going to look off colored and painted. Ever see a work glove with the paint grip on it? That will be you. You will stand out far more which defeats your purpose of trying to blend in. Instead of having a colored suit you will look like you painted a suit and have spotty colors breaking through.

you should just paint your board all black and get a regular black suit, and also paint your face black. Nobody would see you. Ninja

Based on your postings in all threads, it seems as if you are infatuated with "whale jiz".
Are you really panting for more?? See WhalesRus; he can help you.

Dip the suit in tar, at La Brea Tar pits.

I've seen logos spray painted onto a suite with some success, but they still crack and chip off after a couple sessions.

painting a large area is going to look like garbage.

What is "stacking clips"? Just do it n report back what happens you got other suits and a 3/2 is cheap enough that if it doesnt work u get a new one. Hopefully your skin will not be irritated and you dont form some weird rash or infection. If you do you can start a thread for all the medical advice

Stretch the suit out then spray paint so you get all in the nooks and crannies. That way when the suit stretched it don't chip the sweet paint job
