Just laid my boots to rest this wknd. No paint job will help. They were just some run o the mill Cabelas boots, lasted me almost 10 years. Wore them in many many states. Killed them at a secret shorey.

So, aside from Patagonia, any suggested companies that make good boots and don't sponsor killing contests?

I know timberland puts a lot back into conservation.

if you whanna be like the firefighters out west way get a pair of Nicks or Whites. I dont know about all that hippie conservation crap but i know there the strongest boots out there and way comfortable once you break em in. I would check and make sure they make a regular hiking boot on their websites first because the regulation ones i got have higher heels and go 8 inches to mid shin.

Ridgemont Outfitters. The brand is new, originating from the skateboarding world. Environmentally responsible tanning processes. Very durable. Probably made inexpensively in China or SE Asia, but they look pretty cool.

Danner. Expensive, but they'll last you fifteen years, then you send em back, they refurbish and retread, and they last you another 10.

L.L.Bean if you never want to buy another pair again. Guaranteed to last and they'll return, repair, replace if anything breaks down on them.

Merrells. Have 2 pair that are damn near indestructible. Danners are great and re-solable, just don't get the safety toe if you plan to wear them a lot as they will hurt like crazy after 8 hours or so.

Steger Mukluks.... www.mukluks.com Made in USA, warm and comfortable. I have the mens traditional tall. Dont even wear a sock in them lol they are legit. They are not "vegan" friendly being made with animal hide (you mentoned something about animals)

I currently have the Lowa Renegade. Broke em in on the fly in Peru (Machu Pichu etc.), no blisters/pain. Made in Europe. Only issue I have is that I have a narrow foot and they don't make a narrow model. Great boot though.

If you want to go the 'hi-tech/hiking brand' route, just go on REI and see the best reviewed boots.

Don't get LLBEAN unless you want the Patriots to win the Super Bowl.

Interesting. I'm looking for a good winter surf boot- something that would be warm and comfy, with a liner, so that I don't need a sock, and I can just jam my foot in after changing. This Scottish dude I surfed with a couple times had something like these, but hey didn't look super nice, just functional.

Any of you guys have a warm fuzzy boot for changing into after a winter surf? You know, aside from the cool Ed Hardy edition Uggs...

    Ed Hardy Uggs huh?

    Appreciate more suggestions fellers.

Old Soul, don't have to be vegan, I just don't wanna support a company that sells predator calls and sh!t like that. And sponsors Coyote killing contests..
