6'1 WRV Red Orange Yellow fade board stolen last night in Ocean City Maryland 123rd St. Don't really have much time to check the surf shops for it but was hoping my fellow locals would keep an eye out for it...
to help us avoid having our boards stolen, where was the board stolen from (unlocked garage, pickup truck, car etc...)?
it was inside my car while i was passed out sleeping in it...so if your ever fu**ed up and sleep in your car while your surfboard is in, lock yourself in
Better yet. . . Don't get F'd up in the first place. Just think, it could have been worse, they could have had their way with you. If you know what I mean.
so so lame atleast dude is smart enough to not be out drinking and driving thats some brave ass dudes to seal the board from inside your car while your sleeping
Yeah man i never would have thought id have to lock myself in my car in order to not get my stuff jacked. Learned a good lesson since they got my ipod too..
Yeah i saw that. The board is like three colors. its red then fades to orange and from there it fades to yellow/gold. white and black stomp pad too
if thats your board on ebay you should tell him you want to come see the boards in person and beat his ***
thats not the board aha if it was i'd be raging out. I have to check kcoast and all the big shops for it sometime but i work almost everyday so im having trouble looking for it. i can tell if some of you were in my position youd be on a dam* mission
I'll keep an eye out for it. I work at a shop down here and so does my roommate. do yourself a favor and at least call the surf shops, never hurts.
That must have been a brave thief... If the guy steals a board from your car, right out from under your nose, then he would have probably known u were passed out. Any person seeing a man sleeping in their car would not steal from right behind them, in fear that a.) they're not really sleeping b.) they would wake up. This means that the perpetrator knew you were wasted, and had pronbably seen you getting drunk at whatever party or setting you were in. Long story short, the dude that stole it probably knows you some how... check your friends homes.
Yeah believe me i broke it down to that much. Problem is I was at a party with 60+ people most of which i didn't really know. But i'm doing my best to have everybody who knew somebody to check, its just not as easy as it sounds. When theres actually waves im gonna go up and down the beach but who knows if it'll turn up/
Excellent move by not drinking and driving! For what it's worth if you are going to sleep in your car again make sure you toss your keys on the floorboards in the back seat. I almost got busted for a DWI once cuz the cop said I was "intending to drive". Not sure if it is true but not worth the stress...
Yeah thanks for the heads up. I always figure that i would rather have lost my board than mine or somebody elses life.. Just hope i get my board back hah
kinda off topic... I was in oahu this summer surfing with some friends on the south shore. One of my dumb friends left his board outside for a few hours and obviously, it got snatched. Well, he was looking around for it for hours and had no idea where it was. They looked all around where we were surfing and in every closet of hour hotel, which took forever. Then my dad went to the foreign roomservice guy and said in his foreign accent "Yo man my son is upstairs crying cause he lost his surfboard here's 50$ can you find it for him?" Then like 15mins later the surfboard appeared. The roomservice guy called all his friends, who obviously like to steal **** too, ans then they found the board. Basically it woodv been to much of a hassle for whoever snagged it to steal the board, then go somewhere else to sell it, and it would take a lot of time. Not to mention he coodve lost his job. So back to your story, there's a whole underground blackmarket of people steaing stuff and they all probably know each other, whether they are friends or not. and If you offer some $, the board will be more likely to turn up then if you don't. And stewarts dumb for leaving his board outside in hawaii for half the day.
