Resin swirl in the glass job is always a nice touch on a fish. You can do it yourself and the possibilities are endless
I tried my first resin swirl this summer. Yellow, red, and blue came out looking like brown mud. Be prepared to a) use a lot of extra resin b) make a mess c) be dissapointed. A good resin swirl looks **** hot though. Air brushing is much easier IMHO. If you have access to a compressor you can get a HVLP gun from Harbor Freight for $30 or so and spray right on the blank (before glassing) with thined out acrylic paint. Tape it off for sharp lines or go free hand for fades. If you screw it up you can sand it down and try again. Resin is a one shot deal. shoot me a PM if you have any questions.
agree..swirls either look sick or well...sick pretty sure the problem with those three colors is that yellow and blue make green and then green and red make brown. All colors in the mix have to be complementary. My guess is if you stuck with any two of those colors you would have been more stoked. And yeah you do have to use more resin and avoid squegeeing it around too much. By the way rDJ: I saw a couple of your boards at the AB3 last spring, and they were beautiful.
