No way you live 2 minutes unless you drive 80 miles an hour or live in the visitor center.

4 miles by car, 2.5 miles bike.

Feel lucky to live in Rhode Island, If the wind isnt working somewhere you have a ton of options. I choose the to live right in the middle of most breaks, so all it takes is a look at the wind

Zippy, iam exactly 2 minutes away from the end of the bridge of the state park. Less then 2 minutes from the visitors center! Wanna put a wager on it? And less then 1 minute from work to the state entrance...nice to be so close to both work and the beach!

10 minutes, 15 with traffic. possibly 30+ if bridge is up.

There are other places to surf 30 min north or 30 min south for touron season. I work about 20 min from 2 different spots

    I consider myself very lucky

I always joked about it before that dam storm. She scared me Barry insurance covered very little to alot of people. So relying on them to replace or repair your home is not a good gamble.so many loopholes but thats another thread.

If I take my boat im still a good 20 minutes to the surf. Such a crap shoot though. Only certain areas are easily accesible water is very shallow and too many obstacles to worry about. But w proper sand reconne those trips are absolutely out of this world! Miles of empty beach. Just need to give a pintbof blood to the mosquitos first.

Nearest decent spot is 25 mins from home. It helps that quite a bit of the time I'm working close to the beach, like 10 minutes from surf.

A few guys mentioned draw bridges. Nothing worse then some stupid f in a cabincruiser whose antennas will hit and they draw the bridge.

Only one thing is worse - a blowboater. In Europe they make them have collapsible masts, but not here. As they go through the drawbridge, sipping martinis and eating caviar on crumpets, they exclaim as they look at bottlenecked traffic that has come to a standstill, "I wonder what the poor people are up to, Muffy".

I used to live 2 buildings from the beach on Singer Island right by the main spot at the inlet, and could walk across the stret to the jetty and paddle over to Reef Road, but when my daughter got middle school age we moved off the island - too much debauchery and skeezed out drifters, into a normal neighborhood. Now I'm a 10 minute drive to there, 10 minutes to The Pier, 15 minutes to the next jetty. She's moving out now, graduated from college, just got a place, so......

...maybe I'll find a way back to that "sunny place for shady people" soon.

Agree: arrive after 830-9am on a nice summer Saturday & you'll be sitting in a 7 mile backup of screaming kids & pissed off dads which allows entry using the one rig out, one rig in - - and no one really leaves until afternoon.

Although we get it (you live closeto the beach) it's not possible to be 2 mins drive even from State. The speed limit is 40 for the last coupla miles up to & including across the Verrazano & the rangers sit over there with hand-held radar all summer long.

And then the speed limit is 35 on the twisty, which is a 7 minute drive (yeah I clocked it) from State to The-Place-That-Shall-Not-Be-Named & that's up at North Beach; the off road is a few mins further. Which, btw, is OSV not ORV. But, you're local, so you know that, obviooosly a typo eh brah....
Just sayin' mistah coop a loop...

Wow....lmao...you are right it is OSV...yep, that makes me a bs'er...lmao...lets just say I live between Bucks (you do know where this is...just making sure) and the fork (which is south point...in case you didn't know)and there are homes between these 2 locations...and you are wrong, the speed limit is 50 up just before the bridge...once on the bridge it's 40...but I guess your smarter then me...and from work I look at the ai bridge everyday. Yes it's 7 minutes to the national park...and should of said about 2 miles once on bayberry...once again, thanks for the clarification.

Iam certainly not boasting...just answered the original question...I will feel free to take your loot too...but I may have to drive 55mph, where its 50 and 45 where it's 40....will drive 35 once on the island.

35 minutes from home, but the Navy base where I work is right on the beach.
