I always use a board bag. prevents so many headaches. the only time they're out is to surf, or repair.
agreed, the truck bed put a couple of scratches on the nose of one of my boards. have to confess - I left a board, in a boardsock, in the back of my truck last night. Went to surf this morning and it was frozen. thought I was going to have to take a knife to the bag but it eventually came off. fockin kooook move.
I cut my board in three pieces and brought it to the beach in a Yeti cooler. Patched it with Flex-a-seal and was good to go... I guy called me a kook and I flex-a-sealed his mouth and nose shut...
if put your back zip wetsuit on backwards...did that once i was so stoked to see waves i didnt even pay attention to what i was doing
I have a dark green longboard. It gets too hot to carry to the waterline during the summer, and it will delam, unless I travel with a boardbag when it goes on the roof.
Yup, aboot a week or two ago, over the Blue Heron Bridge, she just took off. Luckily no one got hurt but my pride. She is finally fixed, but I got to ride my Wave Hog yesterday, so there is a silver lining.
^^Seems like an appropriate response to me. for ya'lls with pick'em up trucks they have slots for 2 x 4 to fit across the bed. Drill a couple holes in 2 x 4 and get a couple bungee cords and ya got a shortboard custom surf rack system. Done this with 3 different trucks and never had a problem. No dings no fly aways. Plus you can trick it out for other stuff like your yeti cooler and such.
