Laye afternoon western LI. Slightly bumpy. I surfed like poo! Best about yesterday was as i was driving on the loop i watched a sea gull attempt to drop a clam on my car as i was doing 75. I swerved and the clam narrowly missed my windshield. All in all better yhen pickin boogers sittin around the house.
Ohhhhh isn't moronic Northeast zones had some swell..Fumunda Cudda was too busy trying to pick out a wetsuit from his "quiver" and missed it Keep surfing the keyboard Barry...your mental stability probably relies on it Oh isn't is moronic Yeah I really think sooooo
Yesterday was magic. My buddy had some chores, so I took his grom and his little buddy to the island north of mine. They were up early butthe tide was too high, and dad was done driving them around. He called me and asked if I was anywhere good and I said in bed. Wait for the tide to go out,I'll pick up the kiddies, they will get barreled. It was offshore (out of the SW) so warm temps and glassy waves. Buoys were 8 ft at 11 seconds, so some closeouts but lots of well OH peaks. The older grom is now 5'10" and made his own step up, and he got lots of good waves. The little guy was a bit fraid of the drop (I've seen him shred OH waves in Sebastian before, but these were dredging). I told him this was good experience for the future, but I don't know if he was buying it. He got 1 good wave, and lived to brag to his buddies. Oh, and his dad is CEO of a hospital,so ifhe got drilled, at least he'd be taken care of. I caught lots of long lefts on my old yellowed Orien 6'6" swallow tail, and after getting worked on the way back out (there was a good drift), I made it to the peak and got a grab rail sick left just dropped into the barrel. But when Ifinally let go of the rail, to stand up and hit the lip, it was too soon, and the board shot out in front of me, and I ate it pretty good. That was the only mishap. Many good fast lefts over reef with butter drops. Today, it was smaller, still offshore, solid chest high. The Pier was good and I took out the 7"6" Wave Hog I made. Battleship Gelacitca ,it's a mini longboard with lots of beef up front. So I could take off almost on the nose on soft smooth waves, and it was like hitting the gas pedal, going sooooo fast down the line, not turning, just keeping a high line on the speedy part of the wave and modulating the up and down to keep speed. Whoo hoo! Life is goode!!!
got crazy fun this afternoon - sunny, 65 degree air temps, stiff offshores, low tide incoming. Super fun sesh.
where on the eastcoast south of NY has reefs? Or even any hardened natural structures for that matter I only know of one spot between Jerz and Florida and its in NC.
Yea Mitchell....it did get fun this afternoon. Some bombs rolling through today. Saw bouy readings coming in with some 7 ft @11. The wind finally got it controlled around noon and got better thru the day. Spent now.... Lot of work but well worth it. two very memorable sick pits today!!! Yewwww! Next few days still has da goods. Peace out fellows....
Barry bottomfeeder here. Been here all day, week, month, year. Be here all day tomorrow too. Spewing my knowledge of nothing useful. I wiped out my last session getting into my assisted living van and popped my old lame shoulder.
