One of the best groups of all time lost a good one! Don't think I have ever owned an Alblum of theirs but they have so many good songs!

I understand they sold 150 million records. That is staggering for what they were which was just not that exciting. A triumph of AOR/FM radio marketing. I think every honky was issued a copy of that dang greatest hits album at birth as a sort of white bread stamp of brotherhood. Got to the point where every time I heard the first chords of "Life in the Fast Lane" it made me wretch in agony and race to change the channel. They hated each other but continued because they were raking it in, they loved the cash more than the music and it showed. FM radio of the era pounded it into our brains relentlessly and ruined it for me. Never got the "chicken skin" reaction from any of their music, that sign that somehow it touches you inside if you know what I mean. But hey, that's only my lame opinion. "Chicken skin" for me currently- Motorhead/Overkill, Minutemen/Glory of Man, Bowie/Moonage Daydream/ Better Hang on, Mission of Burma/Reach for my Revolver. Agent Orange/Pipeline cover did it to me last week, my kids hate me when I crank it. It's a great day when another song presents itself as such. Am I the only one this happens to? Eagles were talented milquetoast, possibly just by corporate oversaturation? But was kinda cool that all of them sang including the drummer, which seems pretty hard to do. MHO.

I saw them play in Jersey City back in the early 70's , they were one of those bands that sounded every bit as good as their recordings , yeah they had their issues but they made a lot of good music ..RIP Glenn Frey

The people that did the hard living are starting to drop. I fired up Hotel California this morning, been a while, I kinda forgot how good there music was.

HAHA Nah, she just like the tunes, I think it's more about the music than the lyrics

Well, she has good taste in music and in choice of husband, apparently....
I think it is a great tune also. The double guitar solo is a classic in rock history.

    ^Indeed.

I think most people associate music with a certain place and time. There is some really cheesy/bad music that I enjoy hearing occasionally because it reminds me of past events, adventures, waves and of course girls. At least The Eagles were talented if not my cup of tea. None of us gettin' out alive make the most of it.
