PAts sandbagged the last half of the season. belicheck jedi mind tricks. and some blown calls for sure. they should never have lost to miami or the freakin' eagles this year. consipiracy pirates up here think that the goodell overlord secretly told kraft to tell bill to loose some soft games to throw controversy over gas law gate. pats defense is better than broncos defense any day. playoff football=clutch tom brady=on to carolina

Yes. Dilfer had arguably one of the best D's of all time behind him. He only needed to make that one play, a short pass that went all the way and go up 7 and the game was over. And the run to the SB that year the D and special teams scored a lot.

Back to thread topic, I'm leaning towards NE and Carolina, but really don't care too much. Looking forward... These should be very entertaining.

Btw, Redskins won three with Rypien, D. Williams, & J. Theismann, good, but none of which are near HoF caliber. Being on a good team with good coaching is what is key to championships, and being able to make enough plays to win the big games.

Tampa w/ Brad Johnson. NYG hoestetler.. probably missing a couple more journeyman qb SB champs..

You could probably make a list of HoF QB that never won a championship. Some great players were stuck on poor teams, especially before free agency.

I think once the Pats got the 1st round bye locked up, they went into self-healing mode. Sure the #1 seed would have been nice, but far more important was getting players healthy again, and we saw that last week. With Brady, Gronkowski, and Edelman on the field they are a tough nut to crack for *any* team.

I do hate the Brady, Belacheat and the Pats in general. Do know they are a force to be reckoned with. Not only do you have to beat the team you have to make sure the refs aren't given a chanse to hand it to the Pats. when nancy pants starts whining. If the refs do make the right call on a game changing play there is always the chance the commissioner of football will make them change the call in the pats favor like in the past. Fark the Pats.

I like Cam with the exception of the celebration on every first down. My son is playing QB this season and I told him if he acted like that I'd pull is butt off the field. Guess I'm old school. I gotta say he's good with the fans and the kids.

Pats will win... Their offense is too good.

But the Broncos D is way better than the Pats

Interesting stat to consider, Patriots haven't won a road playoff game since 2006.

Very Interesting.. they beat the Chargers on the road..

Another thought, how will weather affect this game. Current forecast:
Partly cloudy in the morning then becoming cloudy with a mix of rain and snow later in the day. High 46F. Winds NNW at 5 to 10 mph. Chance of rain 80%.

    Discuss.

They've only played one or two road playoff games since 2006.

In history, yes, plenty of mediocre QBs won the Super Bowl. However, the worst you can get away with for a QB in the modern game of pass-fantasy football is Joe Flacco. Those days of a strong defense and running game are far over with. I'm sure the Broncos could have maybe won a Super Bowl in 2005 with their current team format.

The weather is an equalizer but I think it favors the Broncos being at home and the Pats not done so well there.

Last one was in 2013 against the Broncos in Denver and they lost. You're right, they're usually at home which helped them quite a bit. They won't have that luxury this Sunday. Should be a great game, i'm looking forward to it. Hopefully both Manning and Brady are at their best to give us a great show.

If NE only beat KC at home by 7 last week, I really believe this game will be closer than everybody is saying. KC is basically Denver lite and their pass rushers were really hurting last week. Denver has much better play makers on offense and their defense has been the best in the league this year. Brady also historically struggles in Denver. But having said all that I think NE wins by 2 with a final score of 23 - 21. I think special teams will be why. Gostkowski could be the best FG kicker ever and Denver's kicker really scares me. I'll be pulling for Denver though. If your betting I'd probably take the under if you can find a high number or buy a few pts.

With the Carolina and Arizona game I think it's pretty simple....give me Cam Newton at home. At the beginning of the year (on this site) I predicted Arizona would win it all but I'm changing my mind. I actually wouldn't be surprised to see the Cardinals take a quick lead in this game but rally behind Cam. I'll say the final score will be 29 - 24. If you're betting I'd take Carolina at the best number you can find and the over. Check the weather though.

Glad there's no games on tomorrow because the waves look to be absolutely firing. Should be a great weekend!!!

Yea, but 3 of their 4 super bowl winning seasons were won without home field advantage in the playoffs.
