Is it just me or is there way to much slow-mo in surf vids. I mean sure it looks cool once or twice but there's some vids that are like 95% slow-mo. I think skate vids from back in the day had it right maybe once or twice a segment and usually followed by the full speed clip. Idk I just would like to see more of these waves at full speed so you can really get a feel of what it looks like irl. Just my .02

I feel the same with slo- mo in porn luckily there's not to much of that. Speaking of porn tho what kind of person do you have to be too comment on a porn vid seems unnecessary.

The only repeat ONLY time it's ok to have slow mo is in a water angle shot of a duck dive or thru the wave shot of someone going down the line. And XXL awards wipeout entries. Anywhere else and it is ghey

Hayduke, a proper banger mtb edit involves loud music (NO DUBSTEP) and lots of berm railing or cutties, as well as a big ol whip every now and then. No room for slo mo. Did you see unreal by Teton gravity?

anyone see the new JJF flick? basically an hour of slo-mo, single trick clips. What ever happened to linking moves and good flow? also, JJ seems vapid as hell.

yea i caught it on pink bike when they had it fo free. The early nwd videos were sick as well (except the parts where they had POD playing)

I like slow mo when im trying to learn new tricks/maneuvers that I cant seem to grasp. Back in the old grom days I used to watch em always. not so much anymore

    Answer is obvious-

Less footage, and less surfer time = more time eatin up by sloooowmo = less $$$ to budget = bigger profit margin (or just A profit margin, I can't imagine surf movies make all that much dough)

Slomo has always been a complaint. I thought it should only be done in wipe out scenes. Also I wished they'd start the segments with the guys paddling for the wave, not after they're in it.

Agreed. Slow-mo surf clips are only good if someone's going over the falls at Jaws. Almost as bad as POV GoPro clips

The one thing I've learned from go-pro clips is that my 10 second rides are really five second rides... Now if I use slow-mo....
