Makes you feel REAL Small. Experienced a session with a blue whale about 50 yds from me in La Jolla. Scary (kind of) and awesome all at the same time!

Actually we do. I work on several commercial fishing vessels part time as a fill in when I get the call. Right whales are pretty common, ive seen them right in the mouth of the shark river inlet. They like to filter feed on the rainfish and sandeels when they come through in late fall.

I was wondering if DPSUP got to see these whales, as they were hanging out in his territory...

That's cool. All we ever get down here is jelly fish all the time and Gummer sharks as well.

Last year I surfed with some humpback whales breaching off in the distance (a couple hundred yards off shore) for two hours last year. Just me and the whales... It was freakin' awesome! Good for you Betty!

I responded in the other tread, but just in case, I didn't get to see them, I wasn't able to get out until just before dark, got about a 45 minute session before I couldn't see the waves anymore, I was a little further South of that though, I see they were found at Sebastian Inlet too!

Well, I know you can do better than that. Your obsession with Snookie....must be a shredmachine thang.

I'll take the company of wolves, whales, dolphins, dogs over the company of most of the human virus that's staining & destroying my planet.

You, on the other hand, can have your gerbils.
