Canada, it's got the goods as seen by ryan mack's photo feature on surfingmag. Anybody got any stories about surfing there. Despite the 14 hour drive from south jersey, Nico and Sam Hammer look like they score there pretty hard. Yea its cold, and weather is crazy but the setups there look rediculous.
Dude, if you're gonna make that 14 hour trek to BC, you might as well drive another eight hours and go to Hawaii. Not as cold. Just sayin'
never heard of this ryan guy until Swell info started promoting him. do the math 14 hrs x 50mph gets u 700 miles-dumps u in Nova here's the article http://www.surfingmagazine.com/the-wild-north/ its all a lil self promoting hipstery BS for my taste, but what the hell- go blowup the canucks beach-if ya get to BC some how-say hello to mary and Joseph and smoke some Chinese hash on whistler mountain
Surfing in BC is serious fkn work man. Its not like you're gonna rock up to a parking lot on any single beach on Vancouver Island. Yup, no surf on the mainland, meaning a nice long and expensive ferry ride from Washington, where they deposit you on the Sound side...not the ocean side. Then, another long painful drive to either the Strait (with its extreme high skunk-to-score ratio) or the coast (long slow dark drive through beautiful Canadian forest, rep!ete with many Mullet-shorn yokel throwbacks). Pick your poison. Hell who am I kidding...both routes are pretty much the Canadian version of Hee Haw. There's definitely gold in them thar hills. But you've gotta be right on top of it...very few have it wired. Let's put it this way: On any given weekend, there are possibly more Canucks in my local's parking lot than any other spot in BC. FACT.
That KIA looks like a great off road vehicle. Love the urban sombrero also. Jersey comes to the woods...
When I was little, I dug a hole to China. It took 7 hours. Once I was there, I surfed Kirra, then walked over to Pipeline for a few more tubes.
