Can someone post a link to a diesel a$$ travel board bag. Hoping for bullet proof... but disgruntled, underpaid, airline worker proof will do...

    Thanks

I've had 100% success i.e., no damages, with the Boost padded bags from Curve. CR, Barbados, Cali: baggage monkeys failed to ding. Would def recommend covering rails with the non-adhesive pipe wrap from More Depot; also, a thin layer of 1/8" cardboard over the deck & bottom is vry lightweight & spreads impact from corners of suitcases tossed onto the bag in the baggage hold of the plane.

Spray paint 'Top Load Only' on the bag. The baggage chimps sometimes actually read that & abide by it.

How many boards are you looking to bring? I have a bag that holds 3, but it's perfect with 2 and some extra cushioning.
You're welcome to borrow it if you want

    http://www.airbagdesigns.com/proof/videos

I remember coming across these somehow a while ago. Videos are impressive- an inflatable bag that seems to handle anything you can throw at it (cliff, stomping, motorbike driving over it... etc). Site says they are sold out, but lists a lot of Jersey shops as dealers; hopefully they're dealer only and haven't gone out of biz.

Seems like they're not more expensive than competitors.

Best of luck, let us know which way you go.

    Good call Scober.

I hope it's stronger than the Dakine single 'Daylight Deluxe' bag. I have one and I f*ckin hate it. It was all the shop had in a moment of need so I took the plunge.

Cost almost twice as much as my ProLite bag, and it's less comfortable, and coming apart much faster. I guess it costs a lot of money to embroider that stupid f*cking logo, money they should have spent on design.

How did it pop? I wondered how the bag would tolerate the altitude changes in a plane; or if they would even let you fly with it inflated.

Thanks for all the help mofo's.

NYNJ- Thanks man. Really cool of you to offer. It's time I purchase one though, I'll have to next time anyway.

Those Santa Monica cases look sick. I keep telling myself that one broken board justifies the cost...

It looked like it got snagged on something sharp. 1" long tear. I think he actually used a raft/blowup doll seal to get it home, but was still deflated by the time he picked it up in JFK

Just went through the same thing myself. After a ton of research and asking friends who travel more than I, the dakine world traveler bag was the most recommended case. vHOlds up to four boards (or so they say); I can easily fit my semi-gun, step up, and go to sb in day bags inside of mine. I liked the santa monica cases as well, but this was slightly cheaper and had a few more features I liked that a smsc doesn't have. Got mine a while back and the padding is thick as sh!t.
