Entertaining and informative. What long rides. Couldn't watch the whole thing. Had to get to work. Thanks for the shot of stoke
Crazy thing is that the waves weren't even that big except the nasty shorebreak that didn't look too fun. I have to say though the smaller waves were perfect and peeled forever.
Who was that guy on the fish? Great style. Going vertical on a fish, sliding the tail out and getting barreled forever.
Agreed ...While this whole edit was packed with rippers, that dude stood out to me as well. Stylish but powerfull. Amazing to see someone ripping a fish like that. I watched this last night and it made me want to surf so bad. Even though I surfed the last two days... Other interesting things in this vid .... always awesome to see Dane at Sandspit. Dude seems like a methodical and slow barrel hound and then out of nowhere, with lightning speed, he bursts into these awesome turns. Also, Seal Beach. Speaking of back problems ... these maniacs are surfing with reckless disregard for their vertebrae.
+1.....watched the vid x3 the past few days....imaginative, creative, powerful surfing...that dude looks fully capable of being on the Tour. In fact, I'd like to see more of those maneuvers on the Tour, as others have said over the years.
Asher pacey was on the fish I believe. I didn't like the last part. Saying some waves only break during El Niño years, showing back drops of LA, but that heaving left barrel was LJ. I know they're trying not to name the spot, but come on its pretty popular.. Sands pit sessiOn was pretty sick. Didn't see Kerr S waves until this video. Good cinematics and surfing!
Agreed. That LJ spot looked pretty fat in that vid, not as hollow as usual...looks like a lot more water covering the reef that day. It's not so much the barrel that makes the spot difficult as the takeoff. Looking at that barnacle-encrusted ledge (with Garibaldi's swimming around it) only 2-3 feet below you while taking off on a double-cornice peak can really get the Pucker Factor up.
