Hey guys, I recently got into shaping my own boards and I am looking for a few items. If anyone has any gear they are looking to dump or sell, I am your man. Looking for a good planer like a hitachi modified and some different sanding items like sanding screens and whatnots. Please get back to me, or feel free to just insult me. either is fine I guess
No tools for sale, just a wish of luck and enjoy your new found hobby. Keep us posted on your first attempt.
My buddy has a super adjustable planner he treasures more than his dogs. Some old school thing they don't make anymore, I forget the name. You can adjust it with hand pressure while in motion, instead of having to stop and redial the thing. The pro shape 2000 or something. He wont let anyone touch it. Like Gollum.
I also bet it is a Skil100 or the dedicated an sole purpose built Accurate Planer. I have been after one for a few weeks. They are harder to find than you might think. I even work at a factory with over 100 workers and a huge wood shop. I have signs over all of the clock in and out stations telling people I am a buyer. As for the carpet, I dont much care for how dirty it gets. It is an old room in a building we will have to completely do over if anyone ever decides to rent it. I will be glassing in the room next door which has just ply wood floors.
Wow, Thats awesome. Thanks for the helpful direction. I was thinking about buying one brand new, but I am sucker for saving money. I am thinking about picking up an old Rockwell 653 model this afternoon for cheap money too. But I will definitely be contacting these guys. Thanks Gaff!
I have a nice 20" chain saw; I was going to sell it. I moved near the beach last August, property has 3 large white pines at rear edge. One of the trees came down, I was glad I kept the chain saw. The day before catching a flight to Costa Rica, I cut the big tree up in pieces, and put it all by the curbside planning to bring it to town dump on my return from CR. Returned, and tree was gone!! My new neighbors loaded it into their trucks and took it to the dump for me. I bought them gift certificates to the local french restaurant. Least I could do. I think we are going to like living here...... I am keeping the chain saw....2 trees remaining.
