So I went there this last Friday. Had not been there in 2 years. That place sucks. There must bee 50 surfers fighting for 1 small pointbreak wave in 2' of water and rocks. As soon as a little wave shows, party time, 4 people all snaking each other! Also,it is a such a uncool vibe in the line-up. Everyone rides a longboard or funshape and can't surf to save their life. I won't be back-staying in jerz!
sounds exactly like Northside inidan river, 48th street and 36th street in ocean city..... oh how people become ****s for a knee high wave
welcome to the summer time. weight till we get a real swell and all them foam top surfboards blow away. at least then its not as crowded, of course it doesnt hold a large swell but what other options do you have in delaware, besides broadkill beach
gotta love 48th street bros all beating there meat to a ankle high......shorebreak set.... on a Bic longboard...... with sick quicksilver stickers.
I went there a couple years ago and this spot sucked. It gets swell from like one direction and if its whack, which i've heard it usually is, you wind up wasting a lot of time to check it. Odds are if its good there, its probably just as good, or better elsewhere. This place shouldn't even be considered a spot. Indian River sucks too. you need a swell pushing chest+ for it to become something other than shore pound.
November 3, 2007 (Noel swell). It wasn't very crowded that Saturday afternoon Sure was crowded on Sunday morning.
In all seriousness to the last swell question, it's been a long spell since good sizeable waves.....Feb. 19 is the last "real" swell I can think of, and it actually wasn't working very well at most places that day.
right. it would be nice of course if you could say, just go down the road to the next break... but this part of the coastline doesn't have a whole lot of options now a days... wasn't always like this where, there was decent sandbars in rehoboth and dewey.
Yeah and along with everyone's laziness to find new breaks...but hey, I'm fine with these lazy people who continue to complain about crowds. I was there friday and saturday. Beautiful around quarter of five in the morning and once the crowd moved in you wouldn't find me there, I took my chances with the fishing lines at the southern jetty right there at herring point.
I really don't mind the crowds in the summertime. It gives you practice turning around all the foam boards. Most people cant catch waves anyway, just be chill and most people stay out of your way if they see you know what your doing. Plus its only about 6 months that are bad Once you put the thick rubber on, It's all ours
