Anybody live out of a small RV (20-25') for an extended period of time?

Lost my biggest client yesterday and dont know how long the company can survive with out that revenue. The managers are having a meeting shortly to see what needs to be done.

Lease is up June 1 - Thinking about hitting the road and seeing the rest of California..?

    feedback/insight?!?!

I want something with a bathroom... I'd hate to be pooping in a home depot bucket..

The old lady is getting sick of my schit. Think im gonna be single sooner than later.

Sounds like your plan would be a great way to get away then

Or a houseboat. You can moor lots of places for free. A big pontoon boat, build a structure on it - think tiki bar, install a head and a galley (or gas grille) and a watermaker and you are all set. Minus: The pontoon boat is a hazard in any seas.

You can get a used sailboat with head, galley and sleeping berths cheap at auction. Minus: It's a sailboat.

RVs are cool, but those VW euro vans with the pop tops are cooler. Less gas, easier to maneuver.

    Good luck!

Just out of curiosity, do you poop in the bucket more than once?

My girlfriend broke the head on my sailboat a week into a 3 month cruise to the Bahamas. We pooped in a bucket for a month till I could get parts. She didn't complain.... So I married her. Had 2 buddies visit me on my boat a different Bahamas cruise, told them my head was broken (not) they pooped in the bucket a week. Embrace the Bucket.

Earlier is better than later to dump the wife. Less painful financially. As for the rig: go bare bones, man.

Always amazes me how much money people spend on stuff like RVs (it can be serious money, 50 75, 100k & up), or a plot of land in Costa Rica (75-500K), or a house in Nicaragua (150-500K), in order to 'get away' or 'cut ties' and 'live freely.'

    EH?

Hellll for what you spend on any of those things you could spend several years in hotels or campgrounds near the ocean, if you pick your season right. Ergo: ditch the witch, spend a few bucks on the 4wd Astro van but don't go nuts, and go surf. My 2 centavos.

Important! Get a trusty, mean looking dog to hold the fort down while you are out shredding the gnar. "In Search of Captain Zero", Weisbecker had a badass dog and no messed with his rig while he was getting pitted while staying in sketchy Mexican campgrounds. Sounds like a good plan to me.

That was a great story. I felt lousy when his dog died, there is nothing on this earth better than DOG.

In no way trying to "get away". This is all dependant on my company folding. Instead of jumping into a new job right away, do what I originally planned to do when I came out here 5 years ago. Surf. Explore.

Think time horizon! What is your next major move? If your current job is pooping out ( pun intended), then you will need another job. Where and when is the new job? Once you know that plan accordingly.

Definitely take advantage of and strategize for as much time between jobs ( best case). Then plan an epic surf voyage based on time and money (go as big as possible).

Pop up camper, mini camper, VW bus, or whatever's...go big (especially if you have a bird in hand....next job!).

Get a van. Rv's are expensive, expensive to fix and expensive to drive. I lived out of a 20 year old dodge b1500 short wheel base for a bit and it was perfect. Plenty of room for boards and sleep. And I had a daily driver when I got back into the rat race.

    Easy to work on yourself.
