wow, I just realized what a di*k I can sound like sometimes on this message board. Its funny how you start talking about the most simple thing, then you end up getting all fired up and speaking your mind... Anyway, when its all said and done, you end up sounding like someone that you are not. I am the most peaceful, laid back guy you will probably ever meet. In and out of the water. I am nothing but a gentleman in the water and I just love the ocean. I love being out with other people that love the same things... Its just funny what happens when boredom and technology mix... Its lets us pick apart even the very things that we love.... Its crazy if you think about it... I just read all that stuff that i wrote about maryland, and although I meant every word of it, I now realize that I lived there over a decade ago, when I was a pretty crazy person. I was always in fights and getting into things, and surfing is actually the thing that completely changed me as a person. I havent gotten in a fight on the west coast. I have been nothing but at peace with everything in the world since I started surfing every day. I guess I just associate problems that I encountered in my life there with everyone else, when really I was the problem, not everyone else... Just wanted to chare that with you all. I think sometimes we focus on ourselves so much that we dont even listen to what others are really trying to say... Anyway, peace to everybody..... I just wish we could all spend a day in the water together.... Thats what we used to do with surfingsandiego.com. Every few months, we would go meet up and surf together. Its funny how much that changes things on a surfing websites. When you can put a surfer to a nickname. Or actually share waves with the people. It gives everyone a reality check and a better understanding of each other
Sorry, i am all for spreading the positivity... That was just my feeble attempt at humor! I guess I should have added the crooked smile.
zach619, I will be flying out to Calif tomorrow to share some waves with some folks coming from points ranging from Washington State to San Diego. We will be converging at a campground in Central Calif (to some it might be N. Calif.). I've only met one of these folks in person --- he is a San Diegan. Expect to have a lively time. Surf forecast is iffy (in other words it will not be offshore, 6' and glassy) but the weather and scenery should be ideal. Plan to stop by the Santa Cruz surfing museum - had a few things to research there, and in their archives, but the collections were shut down by the city for lack of funds back in February according to one of the curators. Timing was off by a week... one of my bodysurfing buddies will be have a raging retirement party this weekend, in Western La Jolla Hills. I'd also like to kick a long haired, photog kneelo's ass if I were out there
hell yeah - share the stoke!! i've had more fun meeting people in the water in cali (and never once had any quarrels or localism BS) than NJ or VB, it seems like the east coast and ****ty surf just makes ppl bitter
Yay! Swellinfo Day! Let's all meet at Bull On The Beach in OC and eat beef and ham and drink from the tap. Forget about everyone surfing together because there is no size, just eat, drink, and shoot the ****.
I actually like this thread. thanks for posting. and whenever I'm out in the water, I always wonder if I'm surfing with people from this site...kinda trippy to think of. I guess I'll never know.
lets all go surf between 38th and 40th and see how many fights we can get in. sike this site and people on here rule!
