This past weekend, I lost a clear/ice colored, right footed, Tech 2 bodyboarding fin around 46th in OC. If anyone could let me know if they picked it up I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks

You'll be lucky to get that back man. I've lost several fins in OC and I never find them. Worst feeling ever having a fin pulled off your foot.

I use Tech one fins, never liked the two's. But, a few years ago I was surfing around 80th street in OC. I got sucked over the falls on one wave and the fin literally ripped off my foot. I went to Kcoast to buy fins quickly and drove down to Bethany to swim in front of a friend who guards. Right when I paddled out in Bethany, a tech one fin, same size but different color, floated to the surface. It felt like I had struck gold.

its gone, bye bye... most likely got sucked out into the ocean never to return. fin teathers are a good idea if your fins frequently come off, however if the fin fits you correctly it shouldnt be very loose.

More than once has a fur ball of the collapsing tube behind me ripped off a good fitting fin, but never once has a fin been lost with fin tethers on. I learned *my* lesson well on a sweet 5' getaway Sunday morning session at Big Rock - hard to find replacement fins at 7:30am and a flight at 11am! Not to mention if you travel to places where there isn't a surf shop every 3 blocks.

I love my tech 2's. I lost a fin my first time out with fins. Haven't gone without tethers since. I have an extra pair of size L and could hook you up with a good deal on those, if you're interested (I'm in Margate).

I just wish they had a size between the L and XL. The Large are *just* too small, and I'm swimming in the XL's.

I lost an XL Tech 2. What size is yours and what foot? I've already bought a new pair so if you want to buy just one I'd sell it cheap. I actually think one of the lifeguards at IRI found it and uses just one fin to bodysurf. Oh well let me know...

yes, i have the same problem. The larges are too small, and the XL's are too big. It is really ashame, because tech's are awesome. I end up just cramming into the Larges.

All this talk about loosing fin tethers reminds me of a heavy wave i surfed in oc on a far out sandbar. first crash, fin tether dids its job and kept my fin with me, second heavier wave the fin tether snapped....... yes snapped and i thought i lost my churchhill. on my paddle back in to cry, i actually ran into my fin and grabbed it. that being said...FIN TETHERS DO NOT ALWAYS WORK!

Yeah, the only reason I've held onto the larges until now is that other than the fact that they cram my middle toe, they fit perfectly.

Micah you should try the new tech 2s they're smaller than the originals by probably a quarter to a half inch. They still have great power and are way lighter. If you want next time you're down i'll let you try mine out.
