Said it before... I'll say it again... Surfing culture is alive and well. The new generation is just as core... ...progressive... ...creative... ...artful... ...soulful... as it's ever been. This forum proves that... at least to me... over and over again. Surfing culture transcends time, because it's grounded in the very real... and oftentimes seriously consequential... environment in which it takes place. All the other "extreme sports" aren't much when compared to surfing, especially to those who quietly and very personally, engage in the eternal effort to self identify for them selves, who they really are. What they're made of. And you don't need a DOH day to find that out. Sometimes it's a knee high longbort session at sunset. Sometimes it's a party wave on a hot August afternoon. But it's never contrived. It just happens organically, and then you know why you surf. Surfing culture has lots of tangents... music, fashion, marketing... even science... athleticism. And there are lots of other subcultures that are inspired by... or just plain try to copy... surfing's culture. Because at it's center are a set of values that everyone, deep down, believes in, but few can uphold. Individualism. Self expression. Creativity. Pushing your limits. But for sure one of the biggest ones is the topic of this thread... respect. And that goes both ways. So the young guns should know that... whether it's intentional or not... you are the personification of those values... the same ones we held on to when we were young... and were envied.. like you are now. So mad respect to YOU... and you know who you are, my brothers.
LB, that is legendary. That seriously might be one of the best descriptions of surfing I've ever read in my short life so far. POTY for me.

Wisdomme LBCrew...you once said waves are the visible manifestation of invisible energy...well, you managed to put thoughts that transcend language into words in the the same regard. Fkn A.
