So, after another successful off-season of surf almost concluded it has dawned on me the many things swellinfo has been useful for in my life besides forecasting surf, and as a much needed outlet for bantering/medical advice/ life advice/ surf advice in the forums. All in all, besides a relatively accurate surf forecast and the said jibberjabbering in the forums swellinfo has netted me: 1. Multiple free places to stay up and down the westcoast 2. Locals to surf with and share their premium lesser known surfbreaks with 3. A free surf-line premium membership 4. a Yakima Skybox cargo-box for my car for next to nothing 5. A ride to and a place to stay on the North Shore of Oahu Probably will think of more, but for now thats a pretty good list. Just curious to see what utilitarian uses you guys have put swellinfo towards, or what cool things have come into your life because of it.
Met some cool cats. One fella lives pretty close to me and we have done some fin deals and had some fun sessions. He has become a pretty good friend. Bought a board for a good price from another. Trev, our international traveler, you def have taken advantage of the site in an awesome way!

Happy that i could help you out on two of those things. that being said, the site has introduced me to some of the raddest people in Rhode Island, got me in the water in VB, and got local info on areas I plan on living. SI is like new york city. whenever youre there, you want to leave. but when you stop and look around a little you realize everyone brings something different to the table, and you still want to leave. then you come back and realize that you want to leave
dude classic. swellinfo is totally like nyc in that sense. No amount of time here is productive, but when you look around at your friends on their little social media sites you realize how much this place has culturally influenced you.
