OK so I assume a lot of people that surf also skateboard. So has anyone used a skateboard that similates surfing on the street? I know there are a ton of companies out there doing it... Surf stik, Surfskate, Carver, etc... but which one is closest to what you would find to help your surfing skills? Everyones opinions are different Im sure and I know I will get some that will say ANY skate board, but Im not looking to cruise down the road, downhill race, go hit a skate park or fly off railings... just looking for something that I can use in my driveway or on my street to help me with pumping for speed and turning. In my neck of the woods I can be weeks before any surf appears and if I can train on those stretch of days where there is no surf Im all for it.

    Thanks in advance!

I tried their 6'6" skateboard last week! Soooo fun! And it rocks back and forth like a longboard. You can practice cross stepping on it and the skill can transfer to your longboard.

You'll be happy with the purchase. The Green Room is a sic board. It was my go-to for a long time. 34" long and a wide, wide wheelbase. These days, I like the 32" Fraktal much better and also a traditional Black Label skate deck that I threw the CX.4 trucks on.

Yea it's funny I found the post after I posted this. So do you think the green room would be a good fit for what I'm looking for? Like I said just looking to work on surfing technique not looking to park or rip down hills. At 47 not a good idea!! Lol

I concur. I think the Carver really does capture the feel of pumping a shortboard. Same thing with cutbacks and just keeping your hips loose for surfing. Its not like you can learn to surf by riding a skateboard, but if you have a foundation in surfing, and cant get a lot of water time in, I definitely think it helps.

I have a carver complete with the C7 trucks (Knox model) and a set of CX trucks I put on an old longboard deck I had on hand. I like the C7 setup slightly better, but the CX setup is pretty damn good too, and a much cheaper option if you have annold deck on hand.

I like my shorter Knox deck, but the stance is a tad narrower than how I surf. I think the greenroom that someone mentioned is around 34" and probably provides a natural surf stance. I saw another one, Taylor I think, that was the same length or an inch or two longer even also.

^ man I'm tryna get my hands on a platypus deck, but it's always sold out when I check, cause they hand make like 5 boards a year or something, and they go fast. I'd love to put carver trucks on that. I think my bhangra would bite the wheels, although who knows!

Would be interesting to have a ton of turn with ton of flex - similar to tight rope? Then for sure my surfing would improve.

Actually JUST checked - it's in stock. Gonna probably order one today

Just picked up my 31" Resin Complete! So stoked right now. Snagged from a bra out of Seaside for only $125. It was used twice at most. Safe to say I'll be ripping during this flat spell. Posted my pics below.

Btw first time in Seaside. Place is beat...definitely no Belmar.

Yeah man got about an hour logged in today. In my neighborhood and around Belmar for a bit. I'm thinking I'm gonna take it out again here soon. It literally is a blast and a killer thigh burner too. I need to find some kind of bowl/pipe or some transition to take it on to get the real feel.
