golf. It's a good counter point to surfing, equally as challenging, and teaches humility. Plus no waiting for waves, just go play.
flatter than keira knightley up in here. which is a pretty good name for any future tropical systems that fail to deliver the goods, fall short, or disappoint in every single movie. also, flat spells may be named so as well too.
Went out searching at 530 am...looked ok at 2-3 at west facing beaches, however, it was high tide closeouts So of course went to the se facing beach for size and it was total crap...of course I got in anyway bc I woke up at 5, it was sunny, and it was 3+ Crap...but at least it was something more than there has been in a week, and in a week to come Besides, what else was I going to do? Go home and entertain the kids????pffft Caught a couple that made it worth it
Ha! I heard about those. I think it works better with wooden Alaia's of yesterday than pu/epoxy pop outs these days. Granted that half the cats on here ride quality customs, the materials still aren't as eco friendly, to say the least, as, say, Hawaiian boards circa 1800's
Been wanting one, keep saying one day. I have my SUP but I need to ding repair a few spots before taking it out again. It hasn't touched water in over a year I think.
Aside from the usual binges on videos at work, shenanigans around the homefront playing with the wifey and pooch, I have finally taken up shaping boards. If any of you remember, I have been threatening to do so and have made a few remarks of opening up rental shaping bays. Well, I am not renting anything yet, but I have gotten a few boards cranked out and they are in the process of being glassed with me and with a pro glasser. Shaping boards will certainly keep you busy and your mind engaged on surfing and learning. It is definitely fun and can be nerve racking. The hardest part is just trusting yourself to hack into the blank and go for it. The planer can take away a lot of foam in a real hurry. If you have any desire to get into the shaping thing, I suggest you do so. It will be fun and rewarding.
