    Five posts.

That is all it took - five posts to get the threade to where we all knew it was headed.

    Congrats to all!

But, then it took a whole 19 posts for the obligatory misspell. Disappointed.

Instead of starting another rack thread, I'll glom onto this one...
Just got a new/used car (2016 KIA Soul) and had the dealer install cross bar roof racks. I'm now looking for board pads and straps for it. Any recommendations?
I see a lot of WRV products around here but was considering Dorsal brand via Amazon.

Geez!! I didn't realize until after posting that this had turned into another scantily clad thread!
    My request still stands...

Do people use pads on bars or bags and unpadded bars? I usually just bag the board and skip the pads.

I have some Dakine straps I use on aero bars which work well. They are too long but I know that as soon as I cut them down, I'll suddenly have some need for a longer strap.

I have some Dakine pads like these: https://www.amazon.com/Dakine-Long-Aero-Rack-piece/dp/B0035Q6JJM?th=1 They come in different coloures, lenghts and configuration. Velcro flaps secure underneath. Thick, firm padding. Quick and easy on and off the rack.

I use these locking straps: https://www.amazon.com/Kanulock-Lockable-Reinforced-Stainless-Straps/dp/B0094BFGG4 They have two steel cables embedded. Maybe won't stop a determined thief but should prevent a crime of opportunity. I had my first wave surf riding boart (8 ft CBC foamie) stolen off the roof while I ducked into the supermarket for ten minutes after a surf. The morons took my used foamie and left some other non-locking straps and the Dakine pads that were worth more than the boart.

Thanks, Vhalla. That's the sort of thing I'm looking for. Wanted to avoid the pool noodles, duct tape, and bungi cords.
