home to more wanna be surfers than anywhere else in the world? do they hand out free surf borts to the incoming classes at uncw? im serious though why is there so many ppl there that surf?
Its pretty bad. I am hiring right now and have decided, as part of the interview process, to ask if the candidate surfs... if they say "Yes" or "No, but I can't wait to learn", I'm not hiring them. I don't need anymore bastards from Raleigh, Greensboro or gawd forbid Jersey clogging up our waves. By the way, I hate Yankee surfers. They keep coming here, paddle battling everyone and being loud as crap in the line-up. Is there anything worse than a Long Island or Northern Jersey accent? Yuck.
Sad If you had the balls to surf in 35 degree water in the dead of winter, you would be loud too. Cold water cause a bone growth inside the ear canal causing deafness. But be side that, your just a typical ****, who couldn't handle the extreme condition of the NE. I was raised in Va and spent many years in the frozen north and now live here. I love the area and appreciate the people. But when true colors arise, it makes me wonder... southern hospitality is a sad joke.
I love surfing in Winter, (with the exception of February when the water temp really just bottoms out)
This post is the final proof that you are the biggest f@ckwit on this site now. You don't like people who profile Muslims unjustly yet you hate yankees? What a f@cking idiot. Why don't you get away from the computer and tv, come to NJ, and actually meet real people. South Jersey is completely different from North Jersey. So give us all a break and simply STFU.
Agreed that southern hospitality is a sad joke. WB is crowded as fuk b/c wilmington is a decent sized town and WB is a tiny barrier island. WB is also at the end of I-40 so all the inlanders just come straight down and go to the first piece of sand that they see. I only really surf WB in the winter or at dawn in the summer. It's just not worth it to me to do the parking shuffle. In fact, nothing pisses me off like trying to change out of wet boardies with a giant truck full of frat guys sitting behind me waiting for my spot. Hire me Pintail! I'm the most courteous surfer you'll ever meet. If i'm on a longboard I'll even wait a couple minutes before padding for another wave if it's super crowded. The company I work for is on the verge of going under... already took a pay cut so I can take abuse lol
WB is home to the most posers, worst quality inconsistent mush waves out of pretty much any place i ever lived. Most people have this attitude like there trying to go pro, and just attempt punts off crappy mush high waves all day without a hint of style. The "good ol boys" have a crappy so-cal attitude without the quality waves to justify it. Ill take New England anyday because at least the surf gets good and that trustafarian surfer B!tch attitude is less prevalent than in coastal southern north carolina. I wouldn't be so quick to judge the mid atlantic, but i would definitly get your definition of yankee right because yankees come from New England, and jerzy and New york aren't part of there. Oh well, wouldn't expect you to know much about any other regional culture rather than your own backwards one...
You don't sound like anybody I've ever met from NC...you sound more like some carpetbagging blow-in. Don't be such a Pinhead Jacka$$, Mr. Donkey
i grew up on wb and my parents still live there. it gets pretty crowded and there is like zero localism so pretty much anything goes. etiquette is non existent. parking is expensive and impossible to find on weekends. carolina beach is consistently better and less crowded. hell, topsail is much better on summer south swells. don't get me fvcking started on masonboro either
So lemme get this straight you hate yankees. And you don't like anybody from the middle of your own state. I'm from Raleigh originally and **** like this makes me upset. Most beach peeps come from elsewhere originally and you gotta start somewhere. I do agree wrightsville blows thats why i would drive the extra 20 to Carolina beach growing up. No surf zones and less of these agro local vibes.
Just about any American accent on a woman is abhorrent...I don't care where dey from NE, nyc, Midwest, Cali, southern, the only one id say is passible is probably Texan, but it can't be too much Texan Nola Cajun/creole would be almost ok too I guess
That is my life right now. At least it's light earlier/later so I can get some during the week. Just bought a huge noserider. If there is so much as a ripple I'm out there trying to make it happen ha. Also, what metard said.
