Yeah, they are curious creatures. I had one come up to me while I was sitting on my board waiting for a wave once. It was huge, startled me at first till I realized what it was. We just looked at each other and then it went on it's way. One time ("at band camp"), my wife and I took the SUP out to Fort Desoto Park and we took turns paddling around just looking at sh*t and fishing. She came back with a bloody foot and blood all over my board. Turns out she paddled right over top of one that was resting in the shallows which spooked it so it came up out of the water and flipped her off the board and she landed feet first on an oyster bed. Last time that I'll tell her she won't get hurt by doing anything with me lol, she's been back on it since though, dolphins have followed her around before too. It's fun to watch cause she's not a big ocean person like me, but she lights up when dolphins decide to hang out.
