Hurricane sandy at cape lookout guns. 9-12 feet and lefts for days. Had a boat to get out there as the ferry was closed from the storm swell. Water was clear like the Bahamas. Clearly the best day of surf in my memory. Honestly was too big for me at the time with my surf experience but I learned a lot that day. Having a buddy with a boat made it easy to paddle back out too.
Hurricane Irene wasn't big in Delaware, but conditions were really good. Just perfect head high barreling rights with offshores. Popped up onto the boardwalk in Bethany Beach in the morning, and it was doing this out front:

gonzalo a couple years ago. it wasn't huge but it was definitely the best day i've ever had of surfing.was out there with all day my buddies at the local spot. just sitting in slabby tubes all day frothing and joking around, it was a magical day man. felt like i was more tuned in with the ocean that day than i have ever been before. waves were coming to me no matter where i sat. the morning had some fun head high rippable waves and as the day progressed it got hollower and hollower. we only got out of the water once all day to eat. oh yeah hey guys its been a while since ive logged on hows it goin
